Triton Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

By reading other reviews, I can see a trend I experienced myself. The owner of this restaurant is grumpy and rude. It felt like he was doing us a favour serving us food. In the end, I was tired of waiting for the bill so I walked up to him and asked if I could pay for the bill, he said yes, turned his back on me and walk away...I thought it had gone to go get the bill or something but after several min standing there I realised he was actually checking his stock of drinks... so he made me stand there for about 5 min waiting for the bill. I honestly thought about walking away to see if I could get his attention. Food was good, portion a little less that I expected and price hmmm overpriced like everywhere else in Lindos / Rhodes. I paid 12 euros for a plate of Greek salad (Tomato, onion, olives, feta ... not even a slice of bread included). People from Rhodes would say 12 euros for a plate of Greek salad is appalling. Big boss, If you are reading this, smile more often, be nice to your customers and to your own staff. If you don't like serving people, just enjoy the amazing beach you have there ...let other people handle the restaurant for you. Our experience with Triton restaurant was horrendous. We visited them on the 28th of July 2018 and sat on a pair of sunbeds that were managed by the restaurant. They charged us 15 euros for a pair of sunbeds, even though the rest of the sunbeds at the beach costed 10euros. They are legally obliged to have a sign or a board indicating their prices at the entrance of their sunbed area, instead, they had a board next to the person collecting payments, which was on purpose blanc! We are Greeks and are aware that 15euros for a pair of sunbeds, off season, at a restaurant's rather than a fancy beach bar's area is way more than pricy. Triton restaurant are the type of people that consider tourists as dollars, and constantly fail to provide honest and decent services to their clients. The location is amazing, and the owner is a very sociable and provides great service. The food is very good as well, my wife had the lamb and it was just perfect in all the right ways. The only thing to keep in mind is that the restaurant also rents out seats on the beach. They are entirely functional, but a little old and worn. Also, you either pay 30 EUR for renting it for the day, or get them for free if you spend 70 EUR on food and drinks during your day there. We chose the second option, and got two full meals, a cocktail, two smoothies, a coffee, a beer and two softdrinks for about that price. We had a wonderful day and would definitely recommend and visit again. Just mentioning so you know what to expect.
