When we ordered in the restaurant we had higher expectation like usually. Because it has very good rating on the Tip advisor, plus because the price of the food was higher than it is usually. So we expected something extraordinary on the good meaning of the term. There were two orders: Sea-Bass for 24 euro and Lamb chops for 17 euro. I was shocked when the Sea Bass arrived. Come on! I can't imagine that, in Greece where we always had beautiful and tasty (and usually not expensive) meals we got something like on the picture for this price! I had the feeling I was tricked. It is not about good meals and restaurant experience anymore, but only about money how the stupid turist can be robbed. The lamb chops was maximum average but at least it costs only 17 euro. The waiter forgot our extra order which happened after the main dishes has arrived. When we wanted to pay everyone disappeared and nothing happened for 15 minutes at least. I cannot recommend this place, it is just waste of money and make bitter taste in your mouth after a perfect day on the beach. Unfortunately the good ratings and the many positive review totally misled us. Only the view was beautiful, and that's why you pay here, not...
Read moreWe had made a reservation the day prior, on arrival it was clear there was no note of this, however we were seated.
Noticed several people being served bruschetta which looked lovely, when we were served, as you can see, we got a pitta bread with some tomatoes on.
I asked for a diet coke, when served I was given a warm bottle (baring in mind it’s 30+ degrees), no glass, no ice. I asked for a glass with ice, and was given a tub with ice in it, the second bottle I received was the same.
We had the seafood spaghetti, it had 4 mussels and 1 langoustine (there’s no description of what’s supposed to be included so guessing this may change day to day).
Thomas was nice and pleasant, unfortunately the service was terrible, we had to ask each time to be served, for drinks, to pay, for a card machine. There was also no salt and pepper on the table, we also had to ask for another fork as it was dirty.
I’d class this as your typical restaurant with a view, overplayed on this fact with no focus on customer service/food quality.
View is stunning at night, and one of the only places on the island we’ve had a breeze during dinner, if it weren’t for this, this would have been a 1...

We ended up at Palestra because we luckily found a parking spot right in front. Two sunbeds and an umbrella cost €30. The sunbeds were comfortable, but as someone who visits Greece regularly, I find the recent price hikes quite extreme—it’s starting to feel like Turkey’s inflation! Overall, parking and beach setup felt overpriced.
The food, on the other hand, was a pleasant surprise. Even though it’s a seafood restaurant, we ordered lamb chops, tzatziki, and fried zucchini/eggplant—and everything was tasty and well-cooked. Generous portions and good flavor. Definitely a strong point!
The beach itself is beautiful, with clear turquoise water that stays shallow for a long stretch, which is great for families with kids. However, the number of boats around is overwhelming. There’s no clear area separating boats from swimmers, and at times rental boats passed uncomfortably close. Plus, there was a noticeable smell of gasoline in the water, which really took away from the experience.
In summary: Nice beach and great food, but high prices and boat traffic...
