We recently visited the polis apartment executive suite. We were impressed with how clean and tidy it was and the welcome gift that was left for us on arrival - thank you!||The suite is equipped with all the amenities required, including a washer dryer for use. They included everything - dishwasher tablets, dish soap and scourer and laundry detergent to ensure we did not have to go buy our own in order to keep our things clean.||The balcony at the front always jad a breeze no matter what time of day in the 35 degree heat! This was very much welcomed because it was HOT in Thessaloniki!||The location was good, but due to heat we decided to get taxis for comfort. You could easily walk to the centre in 15 mins, White tower in 30 mins according to Google Maps. We paid roughly 4.50€ for each journey into the main square/white tower. ||Use the tour bus the hotel recommend. We used sight seeing tours (red bus) and they charged us DOUBLE the one recommended by the hotel (which we didnt know until after we saw the leaflets newr the lift). ||Opposite the hotel is AB grocery shop which we brought our groceries from, all reasonably priced. There were a lot of bakeries scattered around so easy enough to buy fresh crossiants for breakfast in the morning.||We also had a coffee machine, nespresso machine (may have been another brand but it is the same thing really!), kettle, sandwich machine, ample dinnerware and cutlery, pots and pans. We actually brought our own plastic cups & cultery and paper bowls as wasnt sure what to expect, but they had a dishwasher to clean anything used. It was a full kitchen, even down to the big fridge!||Reception were helpful when we were checking in and out. We asked for additional toilet paper and laundry detergent one day and they were quick to bring it up.||There was a PS4 in one of the side rooms within the suite which was preloaded with a couple of games. They also had a box attached to the TV which allowed for us to watch a few English channels when we were in the hotel. Also TV had streaming capabilities so kids watched a couple of things on YouTube.||The jet shower didnt work well, not much pressure and stuck on quite a hot temperature. I reported this to reception upon checking out as it didn't bother us since we used the bath shower instead.||Towels were changed daily (because of the heat we were each having 3 showers a day!). Overall, we were comfortable as each room had aircon and comfortable beds. ||Thank you for our stay, we enjoyed Thessaloniki and wouldn't hesitate rebooking Polis apartments if we ever return...
Read moreI stay regularly at Polis apartments, both for business trips and for personal trips with friends. I have stayed in studio and in apartment and I am very happy with everything. The staff is very polite and nice, the apartments are great, clean, some with a very big and nice terrace. There is reception with luggage storage which is very useful. The location is walking distance from the center.Just accords the street there is a supermarket and next to it, a small café with great choice of espresso. The massages that they offer through external massagist that can come to your room are wonderful. The massagist, Panagiotis is always on time and an excellent therapist, I highly recommend. The kitchen in the apartment has kitchen amenities, filter coffee machine, toaster, water kettle, there is also a washing machine. Being an espresso fan, I would love it if there was an espresso machine and table ashtrey on the balcony. Parking in Thessaloniki is not easy in the center, Polis offers a parking at external nearby parking at a better price and parking is safe. There is safe and modern lift and building is safe. Reception working hours are convenient, there are options to get your key. I'd like to thank Theano from reception for being so kind to wait for us more than 30 minutes one afternoon, although we were informed the reception will close earlier, we just lost the time in the streets of Thessaloniki.Overall, it's my favorite place to stay in...
Read moreWell, this place is 4 out of 5 solid. The next time I am booking Thessaloniki - this is the place I am going to be checking out first.
I was staying in a standard/superior studio. I assume there is not much difference but space.
Pros: Love the bed. It's super firm. I slept like a baby.
The daily housekeeping.
Front desk staff and John (property owner) - they are great(ask them about Rouga - you gonna love the lamb).
Late arrival guarantied. (I showed up at 1:30AM and John was waiting) Kitchen - small, but has absolutely everything for a week or two stay. CONS: I recall very few minor cons. The shower area is not going to be comfortable enough for overweight person. It was enough space for me, but it's a bit small(suitable for individuals under 200 lbs/100 kilos). No corner shelves in the shower cab for personal bath&body stuff. (I told John about it and I am sure that they will take care of that one eventually.)
Other details - For some people who concerned about the Internet, all I can say that there were signal issues, but while I was staying there they rebuilt the entire network and signal was strong (4 bars out of 4). No drop outs. It wouldn't be a con for me anyway because I didn't come to Thessaloniki to sit on the internet all day, but for some business people...
So, after all, I'd definitely recommend...
