We had an amazing week here at the Apikia hotel in the double deluxe room.|The hotel is modern and smart. Check-in was friendly and we were given lots of useful information. ||Inside there was a lounge area with a sofa (with views of the pool and beyond), coffee table, TV, table and 4 chairs. ||To our surprise, there was also a small kitchen with sink, kettle, tea/coffee, cutlery, mugs, glasses, melamine plates and bowls. There was also a fridge packed full of drinks (think mini-bar pricing). But they were happy for us to replace the drinks with our own. There was a freezer box but we didn't manage to get anything to freeze.|We made good use of the kitchen but were disappointed that the sponge wasn't new, the washing up liquid was mostly water and there was no towel or draining board. It would have been nice to have an option for ice.||The bed was comfy, we appreciated the pillow menu and found the perfect combination. There was very little storage in the bedroom. 2 drawers and a few hangers (although they did happily bring us around 8 more). No bedside table as such, just a step which was fine for necessities. Much less of a problem if you're only staying for a night or 2.|Bathroom was spacious, although no more storage aside from a couple of small shelves and one hook. Great shower (rain & handheld were both very powerful). Would be nice if the door wasn't transparent (only frosted) - not much privacy when going to the toilet! You can't put paper in the toilet which is standard for the island. It's also standard that you can only use the water for washing (not drinking).||There were many doors and windows, all with the option to fully open or tilt for ventilation. It was nice to let the breeze cool the space rather than rely on aircon all the time. The aircon worked effectively and had separate controls for the bedroom and living areas. The blinds and shutters kept the light out well.||Outside we had a private infinity pool with 2 sun beds, a large umbrella, and table with 2 chairs. The pool was deep (about 5 foot) and a good temperature for swimming. We had great views of the sea (including cruise ships), Oia, Imerovigli, Fira and Therassia island. We saw planes and the runway, but the noise was never an issue. The best part of the view was the sun rise to the right and the sunset to the left! We saw several firework displays in the distance.|We had 2 feline visitors but whilst they did beg for food, they were nervous. I'm sure if you're not keen, a quick 'shoo' will keep them away.||Breakfast was generous and delivered to the room, set out on the table. Varied slightly each day and with enough range to satisfy all palates. We did have to negotiate the time as they need to stagger the rooms. They can't serve breakfast before 8am so bear this in mind if you're going out on trips.||We did have a few issues with breakfast. It was late the day we had to leave for a trip (kitchen power outage). We rushed some food and put the rest in the fridge for our return (milk, orange juice, salad and granola). When we got back to the room all our food was gone.|Receptionist seemed shocked and said it would be looked into but we heard nothing. The next day we left a bowl of fruit in the fridge to eat after our walk. Two hours later we found that had also disappeared! This time we were told it was so it wouldn't go bad. We were then told that it was because all the breakfast items had to be washed up the same morning. More plausible explanation, which had they explained, we could have transferred the food and returned the plates.||There was an information book in the room that had different breakfast times to what we were told. And it also said in the book that we would get a complimentary bottle of water daily but that also never appeared.||The location of the hotel was really good. Nice and quiet but only a 5 minute walk to the shops/restaurants/cafes and views of Pyrgos. We really enjoyed wandering the scenic streets trying to get lost in the many steps! |All the restaurants we ate at were good quality, and plenty of great places to get coffees from. Our local highlight was the amazing desserts from Kantouni Sweetery!||We loved the '6 hour private best of Santorini experience' (Santorini Tours). So much so, we hired a car from Pyrgos Rental Car for the day to explore even more of the island. We also enjoyed our glass bottom boat tour (with Santorini-View) including the volcano, hot springs and Thirassia.||If you're looking for the Instagram-style views of Oia, this may not be the right choice. But for more space, peace and a good base to explore the island from, this is a top choice. The free car park is just at the edge of the property. Whilst I think most rooms had several steep stairs, this is still much more accessible than the more touristy areas.|Despite the issues mentioned above (which for the price of the accommodation should be corrected) we did have an amazing week and would highly recommend the...

Read moreOur recent stay at Apikia Santorini was beyond perfect, and we couldn’t be happier. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by Angelina, who made us feel as though we had known her for years. Her warm and inviting personality set the tone for our entire stay. Whatever we asked for, Angelina was always eager and ready to make it happen, often exceeding our expectations. Her recommendations were spot on, her kindness was genuine, and the overall communication with her and the staff was unlike anything we had ever experienced. We’ve traveled a lot, but this level of service was truly extraordinary.
One of the standout features of our stay was the immaculate cleanliness of Apikia. The room was spotless upon arrival and remained so throughout our stay. What truly surprised us was when they asked if we wanted daily room service — something we had never encountered before in our previous travels. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made us feel so pampered and cared for. Every detail was attended to, making our stay incredibly comfortable.
We encountered a minor issue with the internet, but once we mentioned it, within the hour, the technician and even the manager arrived at our room to resolve the problem. Talk about exceptional service! It was unbelievable how quickly and professionally they handled the situation.
Our room was like a dream. I have never slept so peacefully in my life. The mattress and pillows were thoughtfully selected, ensuring the best sleep imaginable. Every element of the room seemed carefully designed to ensure comfort and convenience – nothing was overlooked. The attention to detail was impeccable.
The pool was perfect, with the right size and temperature. The manager even ensured the water was warmed due to the windy weather, so we could swim comfortably. It’s little touches like this that made Apikia feel like a home away from home.
The location of Apikia is ideal – peaceful and serene but close to all the necessary amenities. For first-timers, the nearby bus stop makes exploring the island both easy and affordable.
The à la carte breakfast was delicious, with a variety of carefully selected, fresh options that catered to all tastes. Honestly, Apikia now holds a special place in my heart. It is a true gem in Santorini, and I highly, highly recommend it. We will definitely be returning. If I could give more than 5...
