Fabulous base for exploring Santorini. The room was really spacious and tastefully designed; with an extremely large couch area, tables both inside and outside, and a large bed, there is plenty of space to relax or be productive. Building and fixtures are new and of very high quality. With a large fridge, two cooking plates and a microwave one even could cook oneself; I particularly loved the Nespresso machine (capsules are generously refilled every day). Bathroom and shower also are huge and with all lights switched on also exceptionally well lit. Breakfast is brought to the room; it's huge, tasty and a good mix of things. Best of all is the location: Laid-back Pyrgos village is a pleasant contrast to the crowded, touristy Fira - and when sitting in my lovely private hot tub in this hotel at the edge of Pyrgos offers, I had the same view of the islands nearby as the hotels clinging to the edge of the caldera. I found Pyrgos really in the middle of everything and ideal for hiking! By foot, Fira and the highest mountain of the island (Vrchol Profitis Ilias) are an hour away; Vlychada, Eros and Kamiri beach 1.5h, the Akrotiri Archeological site and cute Akrotiri village less than 2 hours (mostly tiny roads through the fields, dirt paths, and seemingly ancient tracks lined by walls made of lose rocks all pleasant for walking). Scenic Pyrgos itself also lies on top of a hill offering stunning vistas and is home to a number of great restaurants. For sunset viewing, you can climb the nearly Vrchol Profitis Ilias, have dinner at the Santo Winery (15 min by foot), or go for a nearby picnic or other restaurant at the edge of...
Read moreWe stayed 10 days at Nova Luxury Suites and the accomodation was stunning! I would prefer a stay at Nova at any time, when visiting Santorini again. The location of Nova is great, directly near Pyrgos (7 minute walk to the castle at the top) and just about 4km to Fira the main city of the island. You have a perfect starting point to explore Santorini with an ATV or Rental Car. It's not so crowded like the accomodations right at Fira at the cliffs, where many people are walking by your balcony or terrace and can see directly into it.
The staff and the manager were very friendly and helpful, always with a smile on their face and an open ear for their guests - absolutely great.
We had a suite with a hot tub on the second floor and the views were stunning, you can see the two main cities Fira and Oia aswell as the caldera and the Aegean Sea at the same time - better views than on the pictures! Especially at night and during the Sunset. The suite was also very clean and spacious - you also have a kitchen and a fridge, that's great especially for longer stays.
The community pool and the chill out areas for all the suites were also beautiful.
All in all it was a great experience and i would recommend Nova...
Read moreLuxury stay from start to finish, views are fantastic, the location is great for exploring the island, the village itself has a couple of small supermarkets, bars, restaurants, pharmacy etc. The apartment itself was very well equipped, sunbathing towels as well as bath towels provided and replaced every day. Breakfast was a varied selection and kept us going until dinner. Staff are all excellent, lots of tips for exploring the island. They can supply ice for your drinks if needed (G&T!) and can arrange virtually anything for you. Fantastic, loved every second of our stay, the standard of cleanliness was top notch and the quality of finish like nothing we've stayed in before. We used the local buses to get around, which were great, either catch them from Santo Wines (direct routes to beach and Fira) down the road or the village centre. Highly recommended, always booked up, which...
