Booking Gazelle Living was the start of the worst trip of my life.||I already posted a review, but as you can see in the photos was forced to remove them in an attempt to get at least some of my money back from the hotel.||||What started off as a injury caused by their hot tub, soon turned into a situation which scared me enough to force me to leave Gazelle Living and move into another hotel.||||After becoming trapped by the air vent in their hot tub by simply sitting next to it I developed significant bruising and quite frankly believe had my partner not been there to pry me away, my skin would of began to tear, it shook me up, as something like this has never happened to me before and was scary. Straight away I contacted the number for Gazelle Living, eventually got a response and the "manager' came to the hotel.||||As soon as he arrived I notified him I was going to record our conversation in order to protect myself if anything further was to happen. An hour passed, conversing back and fourth, and finally getting in touch with the owner, but in this time both attempted to accuse me of it being my fault or it was potentially intentional, as this had never happened to any of their other guests, yet this has never happened to me before either.. I actually started to believe it was my fault, then realised I was being gaslit and manipulated..||||At first they offered 2 nights refunded as a good will (but apparently this was NOT accepting liability they say) and to continue our stay, which I didn't want, I wanted a full refund of the whole stay and to leave the hotel as I didn't feel comfortable there but they refused, I felt I potentailly had a legal case against them so did research into the appropriate bodies, to which they stated on email they would be contact with their legal team to essentially work a case against me which obviously made me nervous as someone who doesn't know all the legalities of greek law.||||As the emails progressed back and fourth they then stated they wouldn't be refunding me anything, and that if I wished to leave I could and they'd refund those nights I didn't stay as a "good will gesture", I stated I'd rather stay and just have the first two nights refunded (as last minute accomodation in Santorini is not cheap) to which they suddenly became oblivious that they ever offered this, I shared that within the recording they had stated this, and straight away they began threatening with legal proceedings in regards to the recording and pressuring me to delete it or they would contact the relevant authority, which of course scared me again as someone who doesn't know greek law and whilst in the UK it is fine to record a conversation for protection so long as you state you're doing so to the other person I began to doubt this was okay in Greece.||||Alongside this I had not provided my passport details at check in, which I take compelte responsibility for, I simply didn't read the welcome WhatsApp to send the details online (you don't check in here as there is no reception, you do it on WhatsApp) which now due to this they were pressuring me to do so, stating they would send the police to my suite and have me removed if I didn't send them..||||Suddenly my injury due to the poor safety of the hot tub and the negligience of the hotel was brushed under the carpet, and the entire scenario became about me, which now I feel this was perfect for them as they didn't have to accept any liability, and had manipulated the situation in their favour. At this point I just wanted to leave and get some of my stay refunded as I no longer felt comfortable in the hotel. I had also at this point also written a first negative review which they then used against me, stating nothing would be refunded unless I deleted the review, blackmailing me in order to have my injury and bad experience wiped from view of any future guests.||||I honestly couldn't believe what was happening, and just wanted to get out this hotel where I didn't feel safe anymore, and to be honest just get back to the UK.||||I have been back home now for 3 days, I still have bruises from the hot tub, and I am still very shaken up by the entire scenario, I feel nervous even writing this to be honest.. But I won't be silenced or blackmailed by a hotel, owner, and manager, who clearly do not care about their guests and will do anything to get out of accepting responsibility for injury and...
Read moreI had a deeply unpleasant experience at the Gazelle Living in Santorini and ended up leaving for another one shortly after arriving.||While the airport pickup was smooth, things went downhill the moment I entered my room. The entire space was hot, steamy, and damp — mirrors fogged, surfaces wet, and there was visible condensation on both the TV and the TV wires. The air was thick and extremely uncomfortable, with no windows to open for ventilation. The in-room jacuzzi seemed to be the source of the excessive humidity, and the entire room felt more like a sauna than a comfortable place to rest. Even the driver commented on how unbearable the air was.||The room was marketed as a “cave room,” but in reality, it was just a renovated basement with no natural light or Greek cave atmosphere. As soon as I entered the room, there was no phone signal and the Wi-Fi didn’t work at all — likely because of its basement location. This left me completely disconnected, unable to work remotely or stay in contact with anyone unless I physically left the building or found a nearby restaurant with internet access.||To make matters worse, the jacuzzi area in the original room looked unfinished and slightly dirty. There were loose, unconnected wires hanging from the ceiling directly over the jacuzzi water — which felt like a serious safety concern.||I contacted the host several times via Booking.com and WhatsApp, but only received replies hours later. He claimed to have sent someone to my door, but with no working signal inside the room, I couldn’t receive any messages. Eventually, at 23:30 a.m., someone came to check the Wi-Fi and confirmed it wasn’t working. I was then upgraded to their best room, which was indeed much nicer — but not what I originally paid for. The new room had an outdoor jacuzzi, which was unusable due to the cold weather. I had specifically chosen the indoor jacuzzi room for this very reason.||The next morning, I ordered breakfast through the hotel for €15. The food I received didn’t match what was shown on the menu. I’ve attached photos for comparison — for the price, it felt underwhelming and not as advertised.||When the host asked me how everything was, I explained that I was not satisfied — the breakfast was disappointing, and the room upgrade didn’t reflect what I had booked. He simply stated that the upgraded room was the best they had and made no further effort to resolve the situation. I then contacted Booking.com, who tried reaching the host multiple times over the course of 48 hours — but he never responded. As of now, they still haven’t heard from him.||That is ultimately why I’m writing this review — not just because things went wrong, but because of how the situation was handled. Things can go wrong, and that’s understandable. But ignoring both the guest and the booking platform is unprofessional and unacceptable.||I’ve attached some photos of both the original room and the upgraded room so others can judge for themselves what they’re actually getting.||I hope the host will contact booking.com ASAP to find a fair solution- this doesn't look good...
Read moreI stayed here last week, and got sucked into the air vent of their suite hot tub so badly my partner had to pry me out of it, I was so panicked because I couldn’t move it was such a powerful force! It bruised me excessively and is only just disappearing now over a week later... The whole ordeal after was even worse than the incident, with the hotel manager, owner and online team all accusing me of potentially intentionally causing it to myself and stating I must of been improperly using the hot tub 😅 When the manager came to my suite I recorded the conversation, and in the UK we can legally record conversations so long as we tell them we are recording, which I did and throughout the recording it was a back and fourth of implying it was my fault, but then saying they’d refund my first 2 nights, I’d continue my stay and that would be the end of it… Screamed “brush it under the carpet” to me. But of course I was shook up, wanted my stay refunded and to leave the hotel to stay somewhere else because I just didn’t feel safe, or comfortable there, the hotel manager and owner were clearly gaslighting me & given the circumstances I genuinely felt I had a potential legal case too which I expressed to them, to which they literally turned around and said they would get their legal team onto me in response to this, and that they’d essentially sue my for recording them. Honestly I ended up so anxious because I don’t know much at all about Greek Law and my rights and you hear so much bad stuff about brits abroad I was nervous! At this point I’d also written a negative review, which they then decided they’d only refund the remaining nights of our stay and allow me to leave the hotel with some of my money back if I took down my bad review! This is now be re-writing it! They somehow turned everything on me, I have never felt so anxious and on edge, all I wanted to do leave that place! Luckily me and my partner salvaged our holiday somewhat in the end by...
