Rare Greek Restaurant Santorini — Restaurant in Municipality of Thira

Service was abysmal. Food was great though. There are so many other great restaurants in Imerovigli such as Aegean Restaurant, Avocado, Blue Note, even the bar Bar To Navagio (we met the bartender George there, he was awesome). DO NOT EAT HERE! We've been in Europe for over 2 weeks and have not had such terrible treatment this whole time. It started with when we entered and asked for a table. We were told we only had 1 hour to eat because there was a reservation after us (even though there were plenty of empty tables). After we agreed and sat down, several other groups were sat (larger than our 2 person group) without reservations and nothing was said about a time limit to them. They seemed very annoyed that we were there the entire time, servers did not talk to us at all except for taking our order (after we flagged them down). I know it's normal to let people take their time in Europe and we have to frequently flag down the server for the check, we are used to this. It was clear that there was some racial issue here with us being South Asian. To top it off, the check was brought to us without us asking for it and the server did not bother to ask if we wanted dessert. Every restaurant we've been to in Europe has let us take our time, order multiple drinks, we have even ordered multiple desserts successively (we ordered one dessert and liked it so much that we ordered another after finishing the first one, that restaurant seemed happy about it). So they were forcing us out before our 1 hour was up. I placed my card on top of the check (I'm a woman) and the server brought the card machine, took my card (which was next to my side of the table) and gave the machine to my husband to sign/tip. I have absolutely no problem with my husband signing for me (in fact I make him do it for me frequently), but the fact that the server discounted me as a woman when the card was clearly right next to me?! I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone of South Asian descent. They seemed to treat the other Americans and Europeans fine... They were friendly and even chatting with them! They did not force any other table out except for us... Never going back and do...

We booked this restaurant in advance as it had great ratings. I also like steak and their strapline of "If it doesn't have meat, it's a snack!" Really appealled. I had checked out the menu beforehand and was looking forward to one of the bigger steaks but on arrival we were sat at our table given menus and told both were unavailable! I asked how this could be for s steak restaurant and a very quietly spoken waiter said they were arriving from Athens tomorrow. There were other steaks/meats on the menu but had saved my steak night for here. Anyhow my wife ordered the fillet and I ordered the 300gm rib eye. Hers was cooked perfectly mine was barely medium well (more well done) but I'd asked for medium rare. I told the waiter who offerèd me a replacement which when arrived was almost rare. I can eat steak like that,so did, because the quality of the meat was fine and my wife had finished hers long before. The key here was that in the interest of replacing mine fast they never quite cooked it ling enough prob a minute longer and allowed it to rest for 2 mins. First of all have to say that I’m really sorry for this review cause of the people that work there, but I have to be honest.

We got to the the restaurant on my birthday with some high hopes when I think we were the only guests. We ordered a prime rib eye steak 🥩 (medium) a salad 🥗 (we wanted the olive oil on the side) and two glasses of wine 🍷. The ted wines first came which were to my surprise quite cold. But this was a new experience for me as I have never tried such cold red wine. The wine was Ok 👍. Then the salad came where the olive oil was added to the salad and not on the side. That was the first surprise. Then we tried the steak and it was well done. So we told them and they offered a new steak. Unfortunately the new steak was raw.. it was very disappointing.
