Iatis View luxury villa — Hotel in Municipality of Thira

We stayed at the Volcano villa for 3 nights in September 2024, booked through Airbnb.|We genuinely can’t believe the reviews from other people, it’s like we were staying in a different place. When issues were raised the host was not interested in rectifying any of the problems.||Firstly the view is great (but then everywhere has a great view) that is the only positive.||The place was tired and needed a refresh. Sun lounger cushions were dirty and sticky (see photo where I cleaned an area to show). The hot tub needed a clean and didn’t work for the first day. When it did work the paint comes off onto your skin, stained clothes and needed a major scrubbing to get it off - not appetising at all. Also there is now shrubbery and a fence next to it, so you don’t get the view shown in the pictures online.|It is fairly private compared to other accommodation in the area but not from the other room they own next door. ||The fridge in the room was so noisy we had to turn it off or were unable to sleep and the electricity ticks constantly. ||The fish eye lens did an amazing job on making the place look normal size, it was tiny, ill equipped and nowhere to put your suitcases.||The bed was a thin mattress, really uncomfortable, all the plug sockets were below the furniture level so you had to pull the mattress or the chair cushion out to use them.||The kitchenette was more “ette” than kitchen. We were provided with cutlery, 2 coffee mugs with saucers, 2 glasses and one wine glass. No plates or bowls to put the food on and one wine glass to share. I ate Museli out of a coffee mug on day one. ||We expected a small bathroom which was fine but the hook for the shower head is really high and even at 5ft 11 tall it sprayed over my head and all over the floor. So showering involved holding the shower head and the toilet and bathroom were constantly wet.||When contacting Georgios about the issues that he could fix, the response was. |“The last guests broke the wine glass”|“the paint in the hot tub with wash off”|“Yes I know the fridge is noisy” ||Essentially we were left to put up with it, like some kind of 1980s rude resort. No offer of replacements or assistance. Further communications to Georgios were ignored. ||It is as if he was disinterested after checkin to discover we had hired a car so commission on tours was not forthcoming.||All in all a total disappointment for the price. We visited other rooms where friends were staying who even paid less than us and their places were palatial, well appointed, comfy, clean and nice looking.|Avoid...

From the moment we arrived George was so accomodating and generous. From picking us up at the airport even though our flight was delayed, the room was spectacular. Our first time in Santorini we really wanted it to be special and it was above and beyond our expectations. If it was possible to give Iatis View Collection an 11 out 10 we would. George and his wife were wonderful, providing us with lots of information and fantastic history, ideas of things to do and sights to see, even providing us with a really generous gift basket. And then there was the room. SPECTACULAR, the view was amazing, the location perfect, Imerovigli has the best view in all of Santorini, a spectacular location, quiet, but with shops around, a short walk to the bustling Fira and eateries of Firostefani. I can’t wait to come back to George’s place again and Santorini, it really took our breath away and has quickly become our favourite place on earth. Thank you George, our stay...
