If you’re reading this, this is your sign to BOOK MAYU SUITES!! My sister and I stayed here for 3 nights.
Staying here was a wonderful experience and made our holiday. Jenny is the most fantastic, lovely and attentive host that you’ll ever meet. She helped us with everything that we needed including arranging a car hire, booking our airport transfer and sharing great recommendations for local food and activities. Jenny also let us have late check out and luggage storage as we had a late flight back to the UK.
The hotel itself is lovely! Clean and spacious bedrooms, breathtaking views, fantastic rooftop pool area where we lounged around all day. You receive a great breakfast delivered to your room every morning with choice from eggs, French toast, fruits and more. The room had coffee making equipment, and there’s a fridge available to store your own food/drink.
Mayu suites is located in the Pyrgos area of Santorini and it is a PERFECT location to stay if you want to be away from large crowds and just want peace. Pyrgos is no more than 15 - 20 mins away from all the other areas by car or taxi (Santorini is quite a small island). Mayu Suites, is situated on a quiet road, about a 3 min walk from the main Pyrgos road where there’s a good amount of nice restaurants and shops as well as bus stops and breathtaking panoramic views. Everyone in the area was lovely and welcoming and we never ever felt unsafe walking back to the hotel at night.
I can’t recommend Mayu Suits enough!!! Exceeded our expectations and we will definitely be staying again when we return to Santorini. Great value for money too!
Some general tips for Santorini: Ubers cost about £35 minimum for any journey, so I recommend using local taxis, buses or your best option is hiring a car so that you can explore all parts of the island yourself. Buses can sometimes be an hour wait, but they are cheap (£1.20 ish), so if you don’t mind waiting for buses it’s a ok option and will get you to all the other main areas of Santorini.
If you’re looking for the Santorini picture moment, go to Oia really early in the morning! We went at about 7:30 am just before the crowds started arriving.
if you’re going in September try to align your trip with the annual celebration of the volcano fireworks show. It was lovely! (And we wouldn’t have known if Jenny wouldn’t have told us!)
Thank you Jenny...

Read moreExcellent first impressions after late arrival for a two night stay. Quirky suite with washbasin in the centre of the room but all facilities worked and the suite was very comfortable. We enjoyed a couple of hours by the clean pool area after the madness of a bus trip to Fira. |The packed breakfast is a great idea but doesn’t really work with hot food as the cooked eggs were cold. However, the very helpful Giota on reception ensured that we received an early breakfast just as we were leaving to the ferry port on our departure day which we really appreciated.|Would recommend Mayu without hesitation, it’s super clean, attractive and in a great location close to...
