Madame Sousou — Restaurant in Municipality of Thira

Enjoyed our visit. The staff were amazing and professional. Highly recommend the Greek Gin cocktail. We were less taken with the styling choices and food.

Note: you may have to help your taxi with directions. Both our arrival and departure taxis struggled to find the restaurant, maybe the English and Greek Google map listing's are different.

Styling - although the restaurant markets itself as quite fancy (and the prices reflect this) the tables were fairly cheap feeling outdoor patio ones, the tablemats were paper sheets, neither matched the fine glassware or smart crockery plates. Food - the menu was tasty, but the portions felt overly small (most of the way to a dégustation style plate without the menu construction to suit). This is OK as long as you order at least two plates per person and share mezze style. Lastly I would normally expect the kitchen to adjust plate item counts slightly to suit the party size, we had four people and two of the plates were served with three items on it (meatballs, which were tiny and therfore couldn't be expected to be shared, and kebabs).

A nice enough place with a great sunset view...

We visited at the end of June, as a Greek friend of us recommended the place. The view from the porch is wonderful at sunset, but it is likely spectacular at any time of the day. A great view, though, is not supposed to be the only reason why you choose a restaurant. And while in Santorini often the perception is that the customer needs to decide to pick either the view or great food (or, third option: go to the few very expensive restaurants offering both), Madame Sousou does not call for compromises. They opened few months ago. It is a small, yet beautiful, "tapas" restaurant, in which you can order many different dishes (maybe to share) and with a decent selection of wine. Everything seemed appetizing from the menu, but we asked for suggestions to our waiter, who gave us really the best advices. Everything was colorful, well plated, tasty and made with somewhat unexpected combinations. Price was in line with Santorini's average, which means it's a very good value: you'll get attentive service, very good food, nice view, for "average money" (again: average for Santorini :-p) Congratulations to the team, and good luck...

We had the immense pleasure of hosting a pre-wedding event at Madame Sousou in Santorini, and it was nothing short of exceptional. From the very beginning, the team went above and beyond — even opening their restaurant a day earlier than scheduled just for us, making the occasion truly special.

The staff were absolutely amazing, attentive to every detail and incredibly accommodating to all our guests’ needs. They catered thoughtfully to dietary requirements, with beautifully presented dishes and clear descriptions to ensure everyone felt looked after. Alternative meals were provided where needed, and nothing ever seemed too much trouble.

The food itself was delicious — every single guest commented on how impressed they were by the quality of both the cuisine and the service. The warm, welcoming atmosphere made it feel like we were celebrating amongst family.

We are so grateful to Madame Sousou for helping to create such a memorable evening. Wishing you an incredible new season ahead — you truly deserve it.

Είχαμε την τεράστια χαρά να διοργανώσουμε μια εκδήλωση πριν από τον γάμο μας στο Madame Sousou στη Σαντορίνη και ήταν πραγματικά υπέροχη. Από την αρχή, η ομάδα ξεπέρασε κάθε προσδοκία — άνοιξαν ακόμη και το εστιατόριο μία ημέρα νωρίτερα από το προγραμματισμένο μόνο για εμάς, κάνοντας την εκδήλωση πραγματικά ξεχωριστή.

Το προσωπικό ήταν απλά καταπληκτικό, προσεκτικό σε κάθε λεπτομέρεια και ιδιαίτερα εξυπηρετικό στις ανάγκες όλων των καλεσμένων μας. Φρόντισαν με προσοχή για τις διατροφικές απαιτήσεις, με όμορφα παρουσιασμένα πιάτα και σαφείς περιγραφές ώστε όλοι να νιώθουν ασφαλείς και φροντισμένοι. Όπου χρειάστηκε, προσφέρθηκαν εναλλακτικές επιλογές φαγητού και τίποτα δεν ήταν δύσκολο για αυτούς.

Το φαγητό ήταν εξαιρετικό — κάθε καλεσμένος μας σχολίασε πόσο εντυπωσιασμένος ήταν τόσο από την ποιότητα του φαγητού όσο και από την άψογη εξυπηρέτηση. Η ζεστή και φιλόξενη ατμόσφαιρα μας έκανε να νιώσουμε σαν να γιορτάζουμε με οικογένεια.

Είμαστε απεριόριστα ευγνώμονες στο Madame Sousou που συνέβαλαν στο να δημιουργηθεί μια τόσο αξέχαστη βραδιά. Σας ευχόμαστε μια καταπληκτική νέα σεζόν — το αξίζετε πραγματικά.
