I was welcomed with a smile as I arrived at the beginning of the season in May and shown my room for my two-week stay. Immaculately clean, a wonderfully comfortable double bed (as I had requested), perfectly adequate storage for my belongings in the good quality furnishings and an reasonably sized bathroom of a very high standard complete with a fantastic shower cubicle with oodles of steaming hot water...and proper lighting (not the more usual dimly lit, badly tiled, hold your own shower hose, flooded floor experience, once the mainstay of a Greek hotel). A safety deposit box in the wardrobe, and air conditioning with heating for those cooler nights and a flat screen tv on the wall and WiFi of reasonable speed available too. My studio also had a small food preparation area, with a fridge, hotplates, dishes, etc, and a proper kettle! My ground floor studio also had doors opening onto my section of the verandah at the front of the complex, with high-quality table and chairs (no wonky cheap plastic here), a handy clothes airer and nice flowers/plants around.||The staff are very friendly and courteous, always smiling and are a credit to the owners, who themselves are so welcoming, helpful and always on hand for help and advice. ||50 metres in either direction will take you to a beach, a supermarket across the road, restaurants abound nearby. There is a little vehicle noise in the day, but it's very quiet at night. The harbour and main town are just a few minutes gentle stroll away, so nothing is far from this little...
Read moreWe stayed here 13-20 August for a family wedding so quite a few of us were in various hotels and apartments around Parga. The pension is situated right behind Piso Krioneri Beach about 1 min walk and 3 min walk from the main Krioneri Beach. Everything in Parga Town is close to hand. You're never more than 2 mins away from a shop or bakery or bar. A 5 min walk and you're in the middle of the town that's bustling at night. Many places to eat breakfast, lunch, dinner or snacks. ||Pansion Nikos Vergos is run by Spyros and his Mum. They are so lovely, nothing was too much trouble. Our studio no16, was on the top floor which was reached via a spiral staircase and had a small balcony with table and chairs that looked out towards the hill separating Krioneri/Piso Krioneri. Very clean and quite spacious with a double bed and a sofabed for our son. It has windows to 2 sides, TV, Air Con and a lovely ensuite bathroom with shower. The kitchen area was adequate with a 2 ring hob, kettle, fridge and many pans, plates and utensils etc. It seems that the Greeks don't do toasters as none of our family in any of the different studios or apartments around town had a toaster. However, all the rooms, hotel or self catering had full sized fridges. To be honest we didn't really need the cooking facilities as we ate out mostly. If you are looking for some where to stay in Parga I would definitely recommend Pansion Nikos Vergos place and we...
Read moreI came to Pension Nikos Vergos, Parga for 2 weeks & stayed for 4! This gem of a hotel was perfect in every way. The whole place is so tastefully decorated. It is exceptionally clean & well maintained. The location could not be better, nestled between 2 beaches & only a few meters from both. As a solo traveller, what stood out for me was the warmth & friendliness of my hosts. Evangalia & her son Spyros were the perfect hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. I felt like part of the family. The other staff were just as friendly. I saw quite a few of the rooms, each with I individual character & exceptional taste. The 2 rooms I stayed in had very comfortable beds. Each room had a fridge, kettle & cups. There is a small supermarket right opposite & a slightly bigger 1 a very short walk up the road. Nikos Vergos is between the 2 small bays so I could choose where to swim. I mostly chose the smaller stoney Kreoneri Bay. The waters were clear & perfect for swimming. Parga is a beautiful little town & felt very safe. I was here for rest so did not do much exploring this time but I ate at many of the nearby restaurants & tavernas. The people here are friendly & welcoming without being pushy. Wandering through the streets felt so safe & comfortable.||Nikos Vergos was the perfect base for my holiday. So much so that I have already booked my return in September. And I am looking forward to seeing my new friends again.||Highly...
