Honest Review of Golfo Beach Hotel in Parga
I recently stayed at the Golfo Beach Hotel for three days, and while the location on the beach seemed promising, my overall experience was quite disappointing.
Beach Area: Despite its beachfront location, the area where the hotel rents out sunbeds was poorly maintained. There was a noticeable amount of litter, including cigarette butts scattered around, which took away from the enjoyment of what should have been a relaxing setting. It's a real shame because with a little more care, this could have been a highlight of the stay.
Restaurant & Atmosphere: The restaurant clearly has a rich history, but sadly, it’s seen much better days. It feels dated, with fading pictures on the walls telling the story of its once-vibrant past. Unfortunately, even these images look neglected, with their frames falling apart. The food itself was average, but considering the price, there are much better dining options within walking distance. The lack of ambiance and attention to detail in the restaurant is evident, making it a rather poor dining experience overall.
Rooms: The rooms are perfectly adequate—clean, with a comfortable bed. However, they feel a bit plain and could benefit from some thoughtful furnishings or colorful artwork to brighten up the space. This is more of a personal preference, but I think a few touches could make the rooms feel more welcoming. That said, the basics are covered: cleanliness and comfort.
Service: The service, particularly from the male staff, left much to be desired. Getting breakfast each morning felt like an effort, with little to no interaction from the waiters. Basic customer service seemed lacking, and the overall attitude felt indifferent. When we checked out, we were simply told to “leave the key there,” with no thanks or any sense of appreciation for our stay. It felt like a missed opportunity to create a lasting, positive impression.
Final Thoughts: In comparison to other places I’ve stayed throughout Greece, Golfo Beach Hotel ranks as one of my poorest experiences. This is unfortunate because it has all the ingredients to be amazing—an ideal location, a rich history, and decent rooms—but it seems to have lost its spark. A bit of care and attention, particularly to the cleanliness of the beach, the condition of the restaurant, and especially the level of customer service, could make a world...
Read moreI give a one star review for one reason which I think is really sad , most of the foods that were served around me on other tables looked pretty good but I didn't tasted them . What I tasted was pizza and the pizza was the worst pizza I ever ate , you could say that they are not specialized in pizza so their pizza is not the best but man this was really the worst one and the worst part is that it was crystal clear they didn't care at all what they deliver when people order a pizza the dough was the worst not even pizza dough it was something similar to a bakery type of chocolate filled croissant dough , plus the mushroom on the pizza was like a mushroom soaked it vinegar , I'm really sorry but I can't be more specific on how bad it was . Staff was really neutral towards us not friendly. when we arrived to a (beach restaurant) we couldn't sit down on wooden chairs without pillow because our swimming pants were wet , like hello people you basically have your restaurant on the beach sand but whatever . So yeah their only luck is that they are on the beach anywhere else it would be hard to keep up with the...
Read moreUnfortunately, the atmosphere and service at this taverna did not quite meet our expectations — it was the weakest experience we had in Parga. Prices were also on the higher side, especially for something as simple as coffee and water. Additionally, it was surprising to see the waiter smoking at the counter, which doesn’t really align with today’s standards of customer service.
On a positive note, the location is beautiful and definitely...
