BOURTZI HOTEL — Hotel in Skiathos Municipality

Bourtzi Hotel has so many positive things, so it's hard to start with one.

First and foremost, the owners family. You'll be served well listening closely to the tips and hints about the island they'll share with you. We stayed for almost 2 weeks and every single time we followed their advice we were completely happy with it. Professional, kind and thoughtful. If there were extra stars, they would deserve them.

The staff in general was polite, effective and attentive at all times. If you want to tip them, makes sure to leave a note, that it is indeed a tip. We didn't have the time to write a note one of the days and the bank note we left behind was the only thing not tidied up, when we returned. A short thank you note suffices.

There are several wings with rooms. We stayed in the one overlooking the pool. Our room was very spacious with marble floors and a nice balcony with comfortable cushioned seating.

The beds are from Coco Mat. If you don't already know the brand, get ready for a treat. They are amazing and made out of purely natural products. We have often thought of getting them for our own place.

If you're the type, that watches TV on vacation, there are some international channels, like CNN, CNBC, sky and some Italian ones like Rai along with the Greek ones. Greek TV used subtitles, so all movies can be watched if you speak English.

Breakfast was excellent. Wide variety with a mix of English breakfast, fresh fruit, several local treats and sweets along with orange/ cranberry juice, coffee, milk etc. The ladies handling breakfast again were very attentive and quick to refill and keep everything tidy.

Shower products are from Korres, which is the Greek pharmaceutical premium brand to know primarily based on natural ingredients. Very pleasant to use. If I'd have to find something to criticize it would be that our bath was not as modern as the rest of the hotel. On the other hand, it and the room itself were kept spotlessly clean by the staff at all times.

For the lobby bar, there will be a separate part. Spoiler alert: it was great.

Last but not least. Location, location, location! Located with access to the central pedestrian shopping street of Skiathos almost at its top, you do not really need a car, unless you want to go exploring on the north side of the island (which you should for a few days if you like off road driving). You can reach the bus and water bus stations along with all restaurants, bars and sailing boats by foot in a matter of minutes. Awesome location right in the middle of things but not loud at night at all. We slept with our balcony door open almost all nights (just keep the mosquito barrier all doors have closed just in case).

All in all, we can only recommend this hotel. If you want to have the advantage of the city...

This was our fifth time in Skiathos and just like our previous occasions we have stayed at the Bourtzi Boutique Hotel. |This is an easy decision for us because the hotel is perfect. |This includes its location which is at the at the top end of Papadiamanti Street giving you easy access to all the bars and restaurants plus only a short walk from the Harbour and Bus Stop 4. |Inside the hotel you will be absolutely spoiled by your hosts Dimitris , Giannis and every member of the team to which I include the cleaners who work hard to keep it absolutely spotless.|At breakfast there is everything you could wish for from cereals , pastries , hot buffet etc. Taking care of you will be Chris , Stefanos and Katerina. |In the Lobby Bar Stathis will make you some amazing cocktails and these will be served by amazing Pagona. |The 38 rooms are designed to a very high standard and are very spacious and comfortable. |If you don’t fancy a day at the beach you can relax and unwind around the nicely sized swimming pool where the team will keep you hydrated with complimentary water and anything else you need. |At reception Dimitris , Chris and the wonderful Vivi will offer any advice and recommendations throughout your stay and will make any reservations required for a nice day at one of the many beaches or at any restaurant. |Personally I don’t think you can beat this hotel because of the quality , the information , the friendliness and location it’s not hard to see why people that come for the first time can’t wait to return. |We will be returning to Skiathos for the sixth time next year and we’ve already decided where we’ll be staying and yes that will be at the Bourtzi.|Thank You Dimitris , Giannis , Chris , Vivi and every single member of your team for another fabulous stay and the perfect way to celebrate my 60th Birthday and Retirement.
