I don't like writing negative reviews and always try to keep things in perspective and consider cost etc etc. I also take pride in researching places before I book. My wife and I both returned from this holiday feeling disappointed with this accommodation. |The bad feeling started at check in. It was prompt and easy but we felt the charges of 60 euros for AC then 25 euros to use a very basic safe a bit over the top. We expected a charge but to be nearly 100 euros down before getting the key isnt a great start. The room itself was very small. We were on the top floor and there isn't a lift. We have an infant with a pushchair so this was very inconvenient. Back to the room, once unpacked you felt like you couldn't move and the room was a mess. We used our suitcases for bedside tables...The shower...literally can't move in there. The beds are rock hard, our backs were finished after a day or 2. Obviously, the accommodation is self-catering. Cooking materials are basic but because of the lack of space things just aren't possible. There isn't anywhere to sit and eat in the room anyway and the balcony barely fits a chair on it. We had issues with our AC which kept leaking water and flooding the room. Staff were generally attentive and helpful but we were not impressed with cleaning. I think this happens every 2 days but that is inconsistent which meant we had to ask for fresh towels. The pool area is as expected. Nice and quiet. You are on the main road though and there isn't a gate so be mindful if you have young children. The snack or food bar is great and is probably the best part of the hotel. All in all, we had a good holiday but spent most of it away from the complex. Alykes is lovely and is a 10 minute walk away. The beach is great! My advice would be to go to Alykes, but...

Read moreBooked a late booking here, typical basic Greek apartment. We were on the top floor for anyone with mobility issues I’d say this would be a definite no! As quite a few steep steps. Not a problem for us. As we stepped out of our door the view of olive trees and countryside was phenomenal. However the other side where our balcony was, was very tight, smallest balcony we’ve ever had lol. I’d request the second floor. |Small pool but nice, however a large group took over the pool coming from other hotels making the sunbed situation difficult, bare this in mind as it only caters for about 20 apartments, so we’d just head off to the beach. |Food at the hotel was ok Angelo worked very hard as there is basically only him. |Now the walk into Alykes village for us was about 10 minutes but we walked fast, for others could take a good 20 minutes. The walk back always seemed hard work especially in heat. First time for us in Alykes and it was a lovely village, wonderful restaurants we ate Greek every night at different ones. The only thing it’s lacking is some entertainment at night in the bars. Apparently the police this year have cracked down and banned bars from either having tribute acts on or karaoke more than one day a week due to locals complaining. We actually witnessed the police coming in a karaoke bar whilst we were having a really good time. now it wasn’t rowdy or loud whatsoever but the police said NO the music has to go off. |We would come to Alykes again because it was pretty but go to the next town Alykanas at night for a bit of lively evening...
