We went here this evening based on the reviews. Both my wife and myself had Bruschetta for starters and Lamb Kleftico for main. The Bruschetta was mediocre, however the Lamb Kleftico was absolutely tasteless, to the extent that neither of us finished our dish. My wife is more reserved than me, and when asked was the food ok, she replied 'it wasn't bad', to avoid confrontation, however I thought it only right after paying the bill (as it wasn't about the money and I did not want any discount), I felt it important to explain to the manager to enable them to improve going forward (may be it was a one off). However, after explaining to the Manager that the food was tasteless and lacked any flavour, he became very defensive and aggressive and said to me 'do you realise how many of these dishes i sell per night'! I replied 'do you realise how many times I've been to Greece (particularly Tsilivi) (approx 15 times in 20 years) and how many Lamb Klefticos I've eaten'! I ended up telling him that I'm telling him and being honest, what he decides to do with that feedback is up to him. He told me to not come back then, which i obviously won't be because the food was terrible and wouldn't waste any more of my money in his restaurant. As well as this, the table wasn't cleared between starter and main course, with stray food being left on the table from the starters. Therefore not great service either. I think the problem with this restaurant is they know they will be full every night, possibly due to these reviews, however if you want to avoid wasting money, then my advice would be to find somewhere else and dont rely on...
Read moreWe went to fidelio's on a Sunday night as other restaurants were either closed or no tables were available. This restaurant was quite busy with only a couple of tables free, one near the road so we can people watch. Alcoholic beverages were consumed as we ordered our food and the wife had her usual salad. Today it was seafood. I ordered my usual meat dish. Today was beef stifado. The food arrived quickly and the seafood salad looked acceptable with tinned tuna, a few prawns and those pink and white seafood sticks you get at the supermarket. Apparently it tasted nice and there wasnt much lettuce, which pleased the significant other as she's not a fan of lettuce but always has salad. Strange lady. I digress. I feel that a good restaurant would have used flakes of crab, real tuna and maybe other molluscs or seafood in the salad. My beef stifado was presented to me with chips and rice with a couple of large spoonfuls of beef in sauce along with the tiny onions that is a signature for this dish. I might be wrong but I'm sure i'm sure the last time I had this dish it was served in a clay pot. The beef itself was quite fatty with connective tissue still attached which wasn't the most appetising but sauce and everything else tasted fine. On the whole the score I have given reflects my honest opinion on the meal that I had. Fidelio's is probably not the worst food in alikes, but I know we have eaten in better establishments not...
Read moreWORST PIZZA EVER. We were pretty hungry after a long day and didn't want anything sophisticated. My boyfriend mentioned that he tried one of the best pizzas in his life in America in some authentic greek pizzeria established by a greek family and that I needed to try that as well. So we decided to get greek style pizza and seafood one (for obvious reasons). I would say i never had a worse pizza in my entire life. I had a lot of frozen pizzas and pizza from metros and this one is definitely worse. We were shocked by how bad it turned out. Greek one was a bit better but the seafood one was so bad-we only had one slice and gave the rest to the dogs on the way home (they didn't seem to complain though). Seafood pizza seemed to have the lowest quality canned tuna, crab sticks (artificial ones) and some so-so shrimps. For its price it was outrageous-each small pizza was 16 euros. I seriously don't know how you can ruin both-the dough and the topping but they made it possible. The dough was also worse than the store-bought one. So if you want a nice experience-avoid pizza in this restaurant (and maybe just opt for another one, there are a lot of better and cheaper...
