Physis Studios — Hotel in Zakynthos Municipality

Our family of 4 stayed here for 18 nights in September 2018. Having returned from vacation, I can confidently say that it was by far the best holiday venue we’ve stayed in in our life. The villa is situated in a quiet, peaceful part of Vasilikos, surrounded by olive gardens. The Porto Roma beach is 5 minutes away on foot while the larger Gerakas beach is also within walking distance (about 20 minutes). The nearest supermarket with beer, soft drinks, fresh bread, and other food essentials is literally 25 meters away. Note, however, that if you come closer to the end of the season, their supplies will be depleting very fast and they won’t restock, so you will need to go to other small store farther away or go to larger stores in the Zakynthos town area (e.g. Lidl). In any case, we recommend renting a car for easy access to the island’s viewpoints, beaches (especially Dafni, Vrahos, and Marathias), and grocery stores. The best taverns within a walking distance that we visited are Porto Roma Fish Restaurant, Galini, Triodi, and Nico’s Tavern.||||The studio we rented had two spacious rooms with separate bathrooms and access to the garden area. There is also a small kitchen(ette) right between the rooms with an electric stove, a microware, and a fridge. The size of the kitchen may be a bit discouraging at first, but we quickly switched to grilling things in the garden and had zero problems cooking. The garden is spacious enough for safely parking several vehicles, and has hammocks, lemon, olive, and tangerine trees. The little patio behind the house was our favorite spot all the time, day and night. ||||The greatest aspect of Physis Studios, however, is not the location, or quiet surroundings, but Nadia, our host. Speaking excellent English, she was of immense help during our first days and throughout the vacation. It’s so amazing to come back home from the beach in the middle of the day to find the floors wiped, beds made, and order brought to the chaos wrought by two super-active children! She was always there to help with taxi reservations, directions, travel tips, and so much more. Thank you, Nadia, for hosting us and helping us explore this beautiful island. Physis Studios is located in a peaceful and quiet place of Vasilikos close to two nice beaches that can be reached on foot (Porto Roma and Gerakas). There were also many great restaurants nearby but the supermarket almost next to it closed, so we had to go a bit further to buy stuff which was not an issue at all since we had a rental car. The place itself is surrounded by olive trees and a pretty and well cared garden. Nadia and her husband are lovely and helpful hosts, maybe the best hosts we have ever had. You can really tell that Nadia puts a lot of energy and love to keep this place how it is. On top of that, she also gave us lots of tips about places and restaurants, sat down with us with a map and a magazine to show us everything. The apartment studio we stayed has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and one kitchen. The two bedrooms are very spacious, the bathroom is proper and clean and the kitchen is big and very well equipped. Great apartments with a lovely garden and views! Our apartment was very spacious, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Very clean and had large kitchen. Also a lovely, large balcony and a smaller terrace, both opening to beautiful views. The garden was fantastic too, with lemon and olive trees. The location could not have been better- very peaceful area, 5 min walk from the tranquil Porto Roma beach. The larger beach Garakas is 5 min drive. Great for romantic or family breaks. The supermarket and a couple of good restaurants are just next door. Other good tavernas are 5 min drive at the Vasilikos village.The host Nadia was very kind and friendly, did everything to ensure we have a pleasant stay. She even brought us vegetables from her garden and gave us lots of tips for excursions and places to visit. Overall, one of the best places we have stayed and we can't wait...
