Stayed 7 nights with a mission trip & we rented out the entire place because the group was so large. |We shared a king bed room which was spacious & bed was fairly comfortable. Bathroom small but fine with a shower. Room was cleaned every day. There is no safe for storing of valuables. The hot water ran out every morning & every evening because we filled all the rooms & that was disheartening after really long days of hard work to have a cold shower unless we got to the showers faster than some of our peers on the trip. |There is filtered water available throughout the hotel & you need to be very careful. Don’t brush your teeth or even rinse your mouth with tap water.|Also note - some windows are wood doors or shutters w/o glass. The rooms get very hot & uncomfortable & some mosquitoes do get in regardless as their are cracks around windows, etc. (cleaners left our bathroom window open every day so we always had a few mosquitoes in our room). |Breakfast & dinner was prepared for our group every day & overall was good. Unfortunately I got VERY sick, despite being really careful. At least 5 others became ill on the trip as well. |It was safe & clean & served our needs. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the main square where all the restaurants & shops are. Wouldn’t suggest walking back alone at night. WiFi slow & spotty at best. Most had struggles with connections but there is some service. They do have a beautiful bird in the courtyard. |It’s my first time in Guatemala & have nothing to compare it to in this country. You can make it work. If I came back I’d try...
Read moreThe perfect spot to base up at if you're looking to explore Antigua. Nearly everything is walking distance like the plaza, tiendas, the Mercado Artesanías (highly recommend Bonnie's stand! He's the sweetest), restaurants, cafes, bookstores, etc. Came here at the tail end of a medical mission so it was a peaceful place to wind down. If you're looking for a vibrant, noisy party hotel don't come here! But, if you want a gorgeous, secluded type atmosphere with wholesome pets hanging around the premises, this is the place. They even have a little "library" with books of all sorts to peruse and an amazing breakfast available in the morning. All the staff is so kind. There's no AC, don't flush your toilet paper, and don't drink the water (anywhere in Guatemala) but this little alcove in the middle of the city is remarkably cool and a great slice...
Read moreThis was a great hotel, especially for the price. It has a beautiful courtyard in the center, and a central location in Antigua. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Many speak English, offer WiFi, and we felt safe at all times. The rooms were standard, and did the job. The breakfast buffet was fantastic every day. We also ate dinner there most nights, which was incredible. I enjoyed every moment of...
