Stella Hostal - Central Park — Hotel in Copán

Really great hostel! It’s quite new and has a much more intimate feel. The owner and staff are super attentive and treat you like a friend which is great if you’re looking to get to know the locals as well as other backpackers. The staff are always willing to help you figure out your travel plans, or play a round of pool on the pool table! The owner also speaks fluent English for those who don’t speak Spanish.

The rooms are always clean and well-kept, with both fans and AC for when it gets too warm. The showers also have good water pressure + warm water which is sometimes a luxury in hostels! One of the reasons I chose this hostel is because it’s the only backpacker hostel in Copan with a kitchen, and while it is quite basic it has everything you need to cook a hostel meal. Also has free coffee in the morning which is a nice addition! The garden is also a nice space to socialise when you’re not out exploring the town.

The location is the best in Copan, just a couple blocks from the central square with tons of restaurants and cafes around. There’s also a supermarket just one block away. I couldn’t find a laundromat in Copan, but the hostel will wash your clothes for you upon request.

The hostel also recently got two adorable kittens, Mario and Luigi, who I’m going to miss a lot! But don’t worry, they don’t go in the guests’ rooms.

I stayed in Stella Hostal for two nights and it was excellent. After travelling for almost 12 hours from Flores (Guatemala) I arrived in Copán Ruinas and Stella Hostal without a reservation but this was no problem at all. The staff received me and gave me a bed without any hassle. After I came back from dinner and got caught up in the rain, soaking wet, they lent me a towel and refused payment for it. There are ACs in the dorms as well. The location is excellent, just two or so blocks from the main square and very close to the bus terminal from which the colectivos depart. There are also plenty of restaurants and cafes close to the hostal so look no further. Thank you Naun and Fernando, I would absolutely stay here again next time...

Unbeatable location! This fantastic hostel is right in the center of Copan Ruinas, just a block from the main park. You can easily walk to any attraction in Copan Ruinas from here.

The staff are all very kind and want to make sure you have everything you need in this place. They also offer tours and shuttles.

The outdoor space is peaceful and has lots of nice plants, a hammock, and places to sit. The rooms and bathrooms were comfortable and have everything you need, including A/C and extra toiletries. Feels very safe and the whole place is cleaned daily. And not to mention the beautiful murals all around the place and the pool table! For the price and the location, this hostel...
