We had a very disappointing experience at the Hilton Rooftop Garden Inn. I had made a booking a week in advance for 15 people, clearly mentioning that we were coming for dinner. Despite this, when we arrived, they gave us the worst possible setup with low tables that were not suitable for dining and then told us they could not accommodate us.
The staff were extremely rude, especially the bartender. When I asked for the manager, she called him over saying “SOS” in front of us, which was very unprofessional. The manager himself was even more disrespectful. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, he raised his voice, saying things like, “We’re already accepting you, you got cake ( keep in mind the cake was still in the box we didn't even open it yet ) and we gave you plates and you still haven’t ordered” — even though it was only 8:10 PM (our reservation was for 8 PM) and we were still trying to sort out the seating situation with them.
The whole interaction felt humiliating, and instead of enjoying a dinner we had planned well in advance, we ended up arguing with staff who clearly had no regard for customer service. Definitely not the experience you would expect from Hilton. We did in-fact leave after this whole interaction. very disappointing given this wasn't the first time i visit, but with the new staff seems like...
Read moreWe had a great time. The hotel is situated at the center and at the same time in a quiet area. Most of the attractions, lovely streets, inviting cafes and restaurants are at a walking distance. (For example, the Reformed Great Church is about a two-minute walk from the Hilton Garden Inn.) The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean, the rooms are bright, comfortable, equipped with air conditioning and have a balcony. Tech facilities are available. Parking is not a problem even with a rooftop box. The midday check-out time is very convenient. The 24/7 fitness room opening times is also an asset. The buffet breakfast, which is both continental and full English breakfast, is delicious. The children especially loved the pancakes and were amazed by the pancake machine. Nagyerdő Park with Aquaticum Aquapark and Thermal Bath is close by with the tram. Getting to the number 1 tram stop, which goes there, takes only about three minutes from the hotel and the travel there around 10 min. We had a very nice time at the...
Read moreEven though the hotel itself is quite nice (rooms, restaurant, rooftop bar), I cannot recommend this hotel. I have stayed there for several nights and handed my car over to the hotel staff as part of the valet parking service. I got it back with several scratches which have not been there before and were obviously caused by hitting the driver door on some other object. As I had reported the damage, I was told to (even by the hotel manager) to report the damage via email and they will check the CCTV footage for any proof of their staff damaging my car. Surprisingly they did not find any proof for their fault so I'm sitting on a several hundred Euro damage. Very poor service for such a high class and high...
