This restaurant was one of my top choices, but today’s experience was beyond unacceptable. I have my parents visiting me from abroad, and I made a reservation in advance. When we got there we were initially seated at a table, only for the waiter to come over a couple of minutes later and tell us we were at the "wrong" table and that our reserved table was upstairs.
When we went upstairs, it was obvious that the table wasn’t reserved, it felt like an afterthought. The area was dimly lit, uncomfortable, and closed off. My father, who is claustrophobic, said he couldn’t sit there. I explained this to the waiter, but his response was shockingly rude. Instead of trying to help, he snapped, "Why, what is the problem?" in an angry tone. He then begrudgingly went to check for another table, clearly irritated, and informed us there was no other option but to stay upstairs.
I completely understand that it’s the second day of Christmas, and the restaurant was likely busy. However, the way we were treated was unacceptable. Rudeness and lack of professionalism are not excusable, no matter how crowded it is. The behavior was unprofessional and disrespectful, and the entire interaction left us feeling unwelcome.
Eventually, we decided to leave because of how poorly the situation was handled. The waiter offered an apology as we were leaving, but it was insincere and did nothing to fix what had already been a terrible experience.
This restaurant was once a favorite, but after today, we won’t be returning. I hope the management takes steps to train their staff in professionalism and respect. No guest should ever feel...
Read moreThe food was delicious and the presentation was beautiful! But on the other side the service and atmosphere; made me feel like I was back in the slavery days where colored folks weren’t allowed to eat at the same places as white people! My friends and I are black but I’m also half Hungarian and i never in my 27 years of living !!! Felt this discrimination in my motherland like i had at this restaurant! The waiter looked at us with disgust when we entered and asked to be seated the order taking was quite dreadful as he made it clear he didn’t want to serve us! The food came in we ate and 30 minutes after our plates were taken away before we even finished eating and we weren’t asked if we wanted a takeaway box or anything! He looked at us and asked if we’re paying together or not! From shock only one of us spoke! He didn’t ask anything like did we enjoy the meal? Would we like dessert or another drink! After that he went to the cash register instead of coming to us with the bill like you’d expect from a restaurant experience as we were seated questioning what just happened with our drinks still full he ushers to the cash register we ignored him then he started fussing so we left our drinks almost full and went to pay after payment he couldn’t even force himself to say goodbye or respond to our goodbye! Again the food was delicious I would definitely recommend trying it and I’m sure Adolf...
Read moreMelange pizza, terrible service. As a student in the university nearby, I try my best to speak hungarian when I can. My Hungarian isn’t best and I try my best to make it easy and try to remember what i was taught, when we tried to speak to one of the waitresses (who by the way, don’t speak a single word of English) and she told us “You are in hungary, you should speak Hungarian”. I don’t think I’ve ever heard this in the past 2 years I was in hungary. This is the rudest interaction I’ve ever had. After the statement she said, we tried ordering dessert afterward and I didn’t want want embarrass myself even more, I tried ordering churros and i pointed to the menu instead of saying it and she looked at me and said “churros??” In an annoying tone. This is highly unacceptable, my friends and I try to speak Hungarian and this is how we are treated? We were put on the spot for the entire restaurant for trying. Safe to say that I will never be coming back to this restaurant with impatient waitresses who don’t give benefit...
