Under no circumstances should anyone stay here. I have traveled to 30+ countries and have stayed in hundreds, if not thousands, of different properties during my travels and this is BY FAR the worse stay I've ever had anywhere.||My husband and I stayed here in May 2024. From the moment we arrived, we had issues with the property. The property did not inform us in advance that when we arrived by car, we would encounter a gate that we could not get through and that had no buzzer to let them know that we’d arrived, so we were locked out from the start. The hotel also locks the street entrance door and despite buzzing and knocking for 15+ minutes, no one let us in. There were several other guests locked out at the same time because no one was at the front desk, and everyone was very frustrated.||It says that this property has a hot tub, but they don't keep it heated, so it's actually a lukewarm tub. The hallways were kept dark at all times, which I later realized was a way for them to cut costs, which I'm sure is why they don't keep the hot tub heated either. There were cobwebs all over the light fixtures in the hallways and there was a huge clump of black hair on our shower wall.||Our room was very warm as they don't air condition the rooms before you check in and we were informed by a sign on the wall that we could not control the air conditioning temperate. We could only press the off or on button. We turned the button on yet our room never became a comfortable temperature— it was always very warm. I cannot imagine staying here in summer because the heat and lack of ventilation would be unbearable.|I took a five minute shower at the most, and quickly noticed that the shower was not draining properly and was flooding the bathroom, so I got out right away. There is a major design flaw with this property’s showers in that they don’t have a shower door and there is no elevated tile border or anything to keep the water from flowing from the shower into the rest of the bathroom, the hallway, etc. A simple addition of a shower door or an elevated border would have completely prevented the flooding issues that we experienced, but it is absolutely not our fault as guests that this hotel doesn’t property maintain their shower plumbing to keep their shower from flooding, and that they didn’t design their showers with a door or a way to stop water from flowing/flooding into the bathroom, hallway, etc.||Also, our mini fridge in our room was not turned on when we arrived, and we were not informed that we needed to turn it on ourselves (or how to even turn it on, for that matter) so the items we placed in the fridge did not get cold and were unusable.||We let the front desk know about the shower not draining and were moved to a different room, but that room was at least 80 degrees, as they again didn't have the AC on, and it was 11pm, but we barely slept due to how hot the room was. I asked for a fan, which the hotel worked was unable to provide. Our AC unit still took hours to lower even a couple of degrees and the room never became a comfortable temperature, plus the unit is located in the living room area, not the bedroom, so the bedroom stayed much warmer.||Our new room also had issues with the shower not draining properly, so this wasn't an isolated issue. We asked for at least a partial refund and were told no, and the real kicker was, once we were home, we received a message saying that the hotel wanted to charge us 400 Euros for water damage! So suddenly we are responsible for the hotel having recurrent plumbing issues? We've refused to give them another penny and they are absolute scammers for trying to get more money out of us due to THEIR plumbing issues. I can't recommend more strongly that you should...
Read moreMy husband and I spent 5 nights at one of hotel's apartments. The pros and cons of the hotel are as follows.|PROS|1. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. They are willing to do whatever they can to accommodate your needs. |2. The breakfast is pretty generous with different selections of cold/hot food choices. They say it's open until 10am, but if you arrive a little late, they won't throw you out. |3. The location of the hotel is great. It's in a quiet street in Pecs and is super close to the main square (Szechenyi ter). |4. The hotel is relatively new and it looks decent. |CONS|1. The overarching issue is that you feel that management's main goal is to save as much money as they can while you are there. It's starts with the fact that they don't use A/C in the lobby or anywhere unless you complain. We arrived on a really hot day and the staff didn't even bother to turn on the A/C in our apartment prior to our arrival. The A/C units are controlled by the hotel, so you can't just adjust the temperature to your liking. |2. When you arrive, there is nobody to help you with your luggage. You have to climb up a number of stairs (there is no elevator) sometimes outside rain or shine.|3. Our apartment had two floors (bedroom and bathroom upstairs), kitchen/living space downstairs. The bed mattress was very hard and you get only one pillow, which was also very hard. |4. The sitting area on the main floor is very uncomfortable. The couch they had there was the most uncomfortable couch we have ever sat on. |5. They don't provide hangers in the closet, you have to ask for it. |6. They don't provide an iron unless you ask for it. |7. They provide the smallest hair dryer you have ever seen. This type of hair dryer is for travelers and not for a hotel. |8. When, and if, they provide room service, they don't really clean anything, just provide you with new towels. |9. They constantly lock the entrance door to the hotel, so you always have to ring a bell and wait until someone comes to open it. |10. If someone cooks in the adjacent apartment, your entire ground floor smells like your neighbor's cooking. |Overall, it felt to us that management's mentality is all about being super cheap. Their goal is to operate the hotel at the lowest budget possible and not to ensure that their guests have the best experience possible. For the price we paid (approx $1200), the place was not worth it , and we will...
Read moreWe have just had a three night stay here.
Check in: Smooth and went through all of the rules and timings for breakfast and the spa. A welcome pack in the room.
Rooms: Spotless, so clean. The shower was powerful and warm water each time we used it. Hairdryer, complimentary toiletries and box of tissues. A comfy bed but could have done with one more pillow each. Black out blinds in the bedroom. Air conditioning is very good and kept the room cool.
In the kitchen a coffee machine, stove top fridge with complimentary water, plenty of cups, plates, pans and cutlery. One dishwasher tablet. No washing up liquid, sponge, cloth or tea towel. Also no kettle to make tea.
Breakfast: The breakfast was a huge let down. Poor quality ingredients. The breakfast did not match up to the 4 star rating of the hotel. Slow staff. No pepper or paprika on the tables and food items reused daily. Lacked refinement.
Pool and Spa. Excellent facilties. The jets in the pool did not work. They provide towels, sauna sheets and dressing gowns. Great sauna and steam room.
Facilities: A beautiful garden. Drinks available at the bar. Good selection of wine although they did run out of rose wine. WiFi in rooms.
Staff: Welcome was great but lacking customer service and politeness. Staff customer training maybe something to look into. Martin who was on in the evening is amazing and a great guy! The blonde lady serving breakfast on the Wednesday worked so hard.
Location: In the centre of Pécs and close to all the bars and restaurants. The train station is a 10 minute walk.
Fibula has huge potential but just lacks in a couple of areas such as breakfast and customer service to truly make it a fully 4...
