We had the pleasure of dining at Lezser Barkonyha and experiencing a culinary delight that left a lasting impression. The Hungarian Goulash was a symphony of flavors, capturing the essence of traditional Hungarian cuisine in every bite. The rich, tender beef, accompanied by the perfect blend of spices, created a truly authentic experience that transported me to the heart of Hungary.
Equally impressive was the Spaghetti alla Carbonara, a masterpiece of Italian cuisine. The creamy sauce coated the perfectly cooked pasta, while the crispy bacon added a delightful contrast in texture. It was a harmonious combination that spoke to the expertise of the chefs in the kitchen.
The standout feature of my evening was undoubtedly the impeccable service provided by our waiter, Mark. His attentiveness, efficiency, and professionalism were exceptional. Not only did he offer insightful recommendations, but he managed to navigate a bustling restaurant with grace, ensuring that every patron felt valued and satisfied. Mark's dedication to ensuring a positive dining experience was evident as he seamlessly interacted with every table, even though the restaurant was brimming with guests.
What's more, Mark's mentorship of the new waiter, Emma, demonstrated his commitment to maintaining the high standards of Lezser Barkonyha. Emma's kindness and hard work were apparent, even though she was relatively new to the team. Her knowledge of the restaurant's processes and her ability to cater to guests' needs made her a valuable asset to the dining experience.
The atmosphere of Lezser Barkonyha was nothing short of enchanting. The cozy ambiance, coupled with warm lighting and tasteful decor, provided the perfect backdrop for a memorable evening. The combination of delectable dishes, exceptional service, and inviting atmosphere created a dining experience that I will cherish.
In conclusion, Lezser Barkonyha is a culinary haven where Hungarian and Italian flavors intertwine to create an extraordinary dining journey. The true professionals, Mark and Emma, elevate the experience with their dedication and expertise. If you're seeking an unforgettable dining experience, I wholeheartedly recommend indulging in the delights this restaurant...
Read moreWe had Lunch there a few days ago. Food was very disappointing. We ordered 1 Non-Alcoholic Beer & 1 White Wine with Sparkling Water (Spritz) as well as
1x Fried Cheese Strips with Avocado Mayo and
1x Beef Burger.
The Fried Cheese Strips were just ok - but I would not order them again - nothing special and quite pricey for what it was.
The Beef Burger was not recommendable. It was only half-cooked, the meat was partially raw still (the waiter did not ask how one wants to have the meat cooked, so I would assume it is at least not raw), the slice of cheese was hardly melted - i.e. it seems the burger was not cooking long enough altogether. Aside from that the salad leaves in the burger were rotting away on the edges - it seems the chef did not have a proper look at the leaves before putting them into the burger or did not care to put leaves that were rotting on the edges. The fries were greasy and seemed to have been fried in pretty used oil. However, worst of all - there was a long hair in the burger, which only leaves you guessing about their hygienic standards.
I cannot recommend this place at all. It obviously is able to attract customers by its central location, not by its...
Read moreI had the crispy duck leg and risotto. It was lovely. I also had the Dictator 12 rum. It's popular in this part of the world and when in Rome... The place was beautiful and the food was good but what I liked best was the service. This has been a very solitary trip for me and not exactly by choice. While I am traveling solo I wasn't expecting to actually be solo the whole time. You see, I'm from the American South. We talk to everyone. I could make friends with a paper bag. Just look over at me for a quick second and I'm going to strike up a conversation with you. But here? Hungary? In 3 days of travel not one person has even said a word to me. I lived in China for 3 years and it was the same, so I can handle it, but I was much happier for my 3 years in West Africa where it can take an hour to walk a block because everyone you meet wants to stop and talk. Anyway, note to self: Hungary? More like China than Benin. No one speaks to strangers. All except the one server at this restaurant. He was great! He was friendly, and welcoming. I hope he's reading this. If so, thanks. You made my trip to Pecs. I'm considering this a 5 day meditation retreat. I can put it on my CV. 5 day silent...
