OYO 8326 Hotel The Silk Routee — Hotel in Assam

I had booked a Fabhotel room here and had also talked to the hotel staff that I will be checking -in at around 8 pm, number sent by Fabhotel. I also informed them, that I have not paid online and will pay at hotel and if there is a problem. The staff said, its not a problem. When I reached there with my wife at around 8 pm, the receptionist called someone and talked about some booking, regarding an event going on in Guwahati. After that he told that all rooms have been booked and since I had not made the payment online, my room has been allotted to someone else to. However, he will consider us as his customer and provide us a room. He showed us a room, which was not even cleaned after customer had left. When he was informed the same, he showed us another room. The room was tiny and dirty. Also, the room was being used by one of their hotel staff, whose luggage was kept in the room. The room was in pathetic condition, but since I was with my wife and most of the rooms were already booked in Guwahati, due to the event, I did not go out looking at other hotels at that time. It seemed, the blanket covers were not changed after the previous guests check out. They just arrange the room. That is just their way of cleaning the room for next guest. The toilet, however, was surprisingly clean. I won't say, very clean, but something we would expect from such a hotel. Breakfast was complimentary in our Fabhotel booking, so we were also provided the same, that is 4 breads and an omelette and tea. They did not even bother to ask if we were vegetarians. Luckily for us, we are not. Hence, we could eat the cold food served to us after sitting there for about half an hour. Overall I would say, it is the second worst hotel I have stayed in. If you prefer a room where there is some space, you might want to reconsider your booking. I have also attached pictures, which might help you make your decision. By the way, I forgot to tell, that though they could not provide me the Fabhotel room, they charged the same price, i.e. Rs. 1550/- per night but the room, in my opinion, should not have costed more than 500/-. There is no worse rating, so a one star. It however does not even deserve a rating, nit because of the room. But because of the behavior of the hotel staff, who should have informed earlier that they will book the room if they get any other customer or a higher price and will provide a room, where the customer may stay due to the unavailability of rooms. We stayed 6 nights in this Hotel. The roooms are nice furnited and the staff is very nice and helpfull. We got every help when needed. Rooms and bathroom are clean. We missed a blanket on our be but got it when we asked. I think, that in Guwahati there is no better Hotel in this prize categorie. The best is the Restaurant. We had various meal with our friend there and the meal was exellent. Depending the day the Service was quick or slow. I can recomend this Restaurant for any Person who stay in Guwahati. The second best is the Location in middle of the fancy market. Every Thing you Need to buy you can buy in Walking distance. 1. Poor service: The staff service is poor. They will not get your clothes ironed. They spoiled my white shirt that I was going to wear for the dinner. I went to the reception to get my shirt, they said they will have to send a boy to find the boy who had taken my shirt.|2) They served me lunch 40-50 minutes after I ordered.
