We checked in at a reception that was broken down. All the walls had stains and paint peeling from them showing that the building was extremely old and in need of renovation.
We were taken to our floor by the elevator to see the dingy hallway connecting all rooms. The carpet looked like it had never been cleaned. Even the ceiling had patches of dampness as you can see in one of the pictures.
On entering our rooms we were met with a dusty, old interior. As you can see in the various photos the room is in desperate need of cleaning and a total furniture change. Only the bed was acceptable but the quilt and pillows had small stains on them. The bathroom was also in a terrible state but unfortunately I could not get any photos of it.
The food was okay. We ordered a simple sandwich and a plate of chicken noodles. The noodles came quick but the sandwich took almost 40 minutes. When we asked the hotel staff why it took so much time he told that the sandwich came from outside the hotel. Remember, as I said it was just a simple sandwich. At this point it is questionable which food items are from restaurants or food stalls outside and which are made in the hotel kitchen.
The breakfast buffet was like a scene in some busy South Indian canteen. Honestly the quality of food is nothing like how they show in the fancy pictures above. Perhaps those pictures are not from breakfast... I have no idea.
To top it all there was almost no social distancing being followed. During the breakfast hour the elevator was filled with people to the point that everyone was touching each other or stepping on others foot. Also unfortunately during my time staying one of the two elevators was not functioning because of repairs. However this is not a reason to not put a sign to limit the number of people entering the elevator. In addition I also found the lift door to be dangerous on two occasions -1. When it hit me on the side and 2. When it collided with my mother head which could have been dangerous.
Also the all the staff were fine and easy to talk to. One person whom I really liked was the security guard who was in charge of keeping watch of the hotel entrance and taking in and taking out all the luggage from the rooms in the...
Read moreMy recent stay at the Royal Orchid Central in Bengaluru offered a delightful experience marked by several commendable aspects. The hotel's prime location in the city center is a significant advantage, providing easy access to local attractions and business hubs. This is particularly beneficial for business travelers or tourists looking to explore Bengaluru.
The ambiance of the hotel is both elegant and comfortable, with tastefully decorated interiors that blend modernity and warmth. The rooms are spacious, offering a pleasant and relaxing environment. The cleanliness and maintenance of the hotel are noteworthy, reflecting their commitment to high standards.
The hotel staff deserves special mention for their professionalism and hospitality. They were attentive, courteous, and went out of their way to ensure a comfortable stay. The quality of service provided was exceptional, contributing significantly to the overall positive experience.
The dining options at the hotel were impressive, with a variety of cuisines that catered to different tastes. The food was delicious, well-prepared, and presented, making each meal a delightful experience.
However, it's important to note a significant issue that occurred during my stay. On one of the nights, the air conditioning in my room was not functioning properly. This led to some discomfort, which was a setback in an otherwise flawless service experience. Although the staff responded to the issue, it is an area that requires attention to prevent future occurrences.
In conclusion, Royal Orchid Central Bengaluru is a commendable choice for anyone seeking quality accommodation in the city. Its strengths in location, ambiance, service, and dining are noteworthy. The issue with the air conditioning was a minor glitch in an otherwise excellent stay. I would recommend this hotel to others, keeping in mind the singular...
Read moreThe stay was fine, except for a very rude staff member at the reception named "Andred". I had planned to have dinner with a friend of mine at their rooftop restaurant. When she was coming to see me in the room, she was stopped and harassed that visitors aren't allowed to visit guests in the hotel. She told them clearly that she is coming over to drop some things in the room and then we will go together for dinner in the restaurant. However she was told that a security guard will accompany her to ensure she doesn't step foot inside the room. It was embarassing for both me and her to be treated like this in a supposedly 4 star hotel. After this, She was waiting for me in the restaurant. Since I was still getting ready I called her over in the room for 5 mins. And to this, Andred lost his cool completely. He called me over the intercom and started yelling that it is hotel policy and that I would need to pay extra charges. Even after repeatedly telling him that we are going to eat now at the restaurant, he kept insisting that I will have to pay extra for the 5 mins that my friend stayed in my room. Finally I gave up and said to add the charges in my bill and he said ok and that he would charge for 5 mins.
He further added that I should "immediately" leave the room and go to the restaurant. He didn't stop there even. When we were eating, he called over at the restaurant and made a staff member check if we are really there.
This is the first time I have experienced such unprofessional, rude behaviour in any hotel. I understand there are charges if the visitor stayed over but these guys seemingly have a timer which starts the moment a visitor enters the room.
It was supposed to be a fun reunion with my friend but Andred ruined it completely. I was angry, sad, upset and embarassed to have been treated this way. This definitely will be my last stay at...
