We a team of 9 members from (HPE) had purchased coupons worth 12,000 to have a Buffet Lunch at GING Manipal centre (28.06.2022). We are completely disappointed and regretting that we have made a wrong choice to select hotel for our Team lunch. We would like to highlight a few grey areas that needs immediate attention from the Hotel Management.
Only 1 person who was available for serving for 9 people !! and did not have anyone else. He was not able to serve all at the same time Food was very short quantity – example Fried rice and Noodles are just okay for 1.5 person, but for 9 people, he just put two spoons !! The process of nearbuy coupouns were not clearly made known to the stewards as well as the chef! And we did not get the normal quantity of food for the price we paid The non veg 4 course meal was Rs 1600 including beer. But what we got was raw deal! It is a sort of complete cheating by taking Rs 1600/- and just giving half bowl of fried rice and half noodles, one soup and few pieces of two starters! Cheating to the Customer! What were other supervisors or manager doing at this time without caring for customers If Royal orchid did not expect 9 of us on this day, why they did not upfront mention that they are not ready with all items cooked and be transparent and honest about it? Why did they just manage to serve just 2 types of main dish and did not give anything for the price they have taken from each individual Total bill is Rs 12,000 and in our view, the total cost of food served was less than Rs 2500/- for all of us. This is our best estimation and almost 5 times money excess paid for which service was not received We had the impression of Royal Orchid Airport Road the buffet menu with list of many items for lunch, what we got was just
Items served were just the below. a. Soup b. Babycorn Manchurian c. One non veg starters d. Aloo masala e. Fried rice f. Noodles g. Ice cream
The nearbuy app which should show full details of menu just lists 4 lines and the customer is not provided with all the details of food menu for Rs 1600/- per non veg and Rs 1300/- per veg meal including beverage.
For the same price we could have gone to a better place where we get a wide spread of Buffet . We just wasted Rs.12000. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone, who has any plans to city center restaurants or team lunch/dinner.
There is lack of professionalism on the part of the people who manage this restaurant, and they simply think they are above 10+floors, and do not need any feedback to survive! Jointly all Bengalurians should not support this place! until they make improvements in their service, menu listing, polite behaviour and above all hearing...
Read moreLocated on the 10th floor of the Royal Orchid Central hotel, Ging Oriental kitchen, the ultimate fine dine place celebrates its 1 year anniversary this September. Along with expertise in pan Asian cuisine, Ging also furnishes its patrons a unique dining ambience with city and lake view.
AMBIENCE We enter the place through a lit floorway finally leading to another lit stairway. Beautiful mirrors and chandeliers grace the place with a royal look. A wall graffiti of a Japanese dragon made entirely with painted plates is a visual delight. Seating is couch as well as cushion base chair based. There is a sauce cum kitchen bar, regular but beautiful bar and a dj console area separately located.
FOOD and DRINKS There is always a special drink of the day, and o got to try the unique °FANTAsea° made with a vodka base and Fanta poured in it, presented beautifully.
°Ginger cosmopolitan° was another vodka based cocktail with hints of ginger and lime and main cranberry juice.
°Mandarin Rita° was an interesting orange based cocktail with pulp inside and vodka as the base liquor.
°Whisky sour° was beautifully prepared, really admired it's balanced flavors.
°Dimsum° Truffle edamame This pomegranate topped dumpling had nicely minced edamame stuffing, well flavored. Chicken Shanghai had mouthful of chicken stuffed in purple coloured dimsums, very decent in taste and fresh in appeal.
°Chicken wonton soup° This was one of my favourite takeaway from here. Chicken had the soft wonton cover and not the fried one in the excellently prepared chilli peppery soup.
°Crispy corn° here were in attached form with lemon grass as the major flavor.
°Zucchini spring roll° I loved these spring rolls so much, had to go for another plate. Minced zucchini was wrapped in soft yet crispy cover and served with sweet chilli sauce.
°Red Chilli chicken° Excellent red colour with Guntur chilli and whole garlic, this was a delicious preparation and had capsicum and cashews mixed to make the experience even better.
°Mains and sides° Roast chicken was beautifully roared and had peanut five spice sauce. In veg, okra based and mixed mushroom dishes had peppery and sober broth sauces respectively. The corn and potato mix was very succulent. Hot and spicy Pan fried noodles were prepared well and weren't sticky, burnt garlic fried rice was excellent and could be had without any gravy.
°Dessert° My favourite would be lichi Panna cotta and jelly based cheesecake.
SERVICE and COSTING Place is Medium expensive, has well tarined and groomed staff. Know all the fine dine etiquettes and ensured us a great...
Read moreI booked a table for 2 on a midweek for lunch through zomato 50% off. When we arrived the place was almost empty with one table occupied. Yet the seats were not cleaned. There were lot of stuff like sand and dry leaves on the seats. Cushions were not arranged.
Then when we ordered cocktail waitress said cocktails are not under the discount offer. Only indian liquors on offer. Then I said it’s not mentioned anywhere in the app and she said it was updated 2 days ago but it takes 3 days to show in the app ! A white lie! I said ask manager and let me know. She then came back and said it can be done. So we ordered a mocktail and cocktail and korean bbq chicken. Cocktail had little to no alcohol in it! Korean chicken was tender and tasty. We also ordered crispy fried fish. Which contained too much artificial colour in it. Taste was good though. Prawn siu mai dumplings were really tasty. I think one should order dumplings here. Then i ordered a melony mocktail. Which contains watermelon chunks. They didn’t even make efforts to remove the watermelon seeds which you can see in the video I posted. We also ordered turnip cake as I had tried this in hongkong and loved it. But it was so modified to indian tasting. It was deep fried instead of pan fry on both sides. And added lot of garlic and chillies. Not authentic at all. Then we directly ordered desserts. Creme brulee was burnt and tubtim a thai dessert with water chestnut and coconut milk ice cream was so bad. It had no flavour of coconut milk at all. And the pink syrup they used along with water chestnut was too bad and smelling syrupy. I don’t suggest you to try any of these desserts here.
Then when we got the bill it came with separate cocktail order and others as they again said cocktail didn’t come under the discount. I told them the waitress earlier confirmed it after asking the manager. Then they changed the bill again. They added service charge first and then added GST on it which is not right. GST is on food and drinks and not on service charge. I had to ask them to correct it again.
These silly things made me very disappointed. I would never come here again even though starters were good here. So I request all to check the bill thoroughly before paying them. They try to extract more money as possible.
The view is good and breezy in evenings. Service is slow and also the waitresses for same table keeps changing. Changed 3-4 times in just 3 hours we...
