This is a new Dindigul Thalapakatti outlet that has opened in the same location as where Kids Kemp was. It’s a much smaller outlet as compared to the Indiranagar one, but the food is just as great.

Ambience: (4/5) They have tried to bring in a lot of interesting wall images about its history and growth to just provide some difference from the typical functional layout of restaurants like these. The seats were comfortable and offered multiple seating options for groups up to 10 people. This place is smaller and hence waiting would be required.

Food: (5/5) For those who have had the Dindigul Thalapakatti biriyani, this place matches to taste. And for those who have not, you are seriously missing out on something. The biriyani is cooked with smaller broken rice and not the basmati rice used in other locations. The flavour has a mix of spice as well as pepper, but they both balance each other perfectly. The chicken pieces were cooked extremely well and were hence quite soft. The papad, curd and salan were all fantastic to enhance the flavour even more. If was an absolute delight to eat as there was a good punch in the flavours and yet perfectly balanced. There are also a bunch of starters and other items on the menu, so you don’t have to worry at it just being all biriyani. Also some good options for your vegetarian friends.

Summary: (5/5) This is a must visit for biriyani lovers in Bangalore. Granted it isn’t like Hyderbadi or some other typical biriyani, but this is certainly a great addition to the biriyani family. Drop by and enjoy a...

Bengaluru is no doubt filled with biryani restaurants, but often it can get pretty boring trying the same type of biryani and starters. This is a reason why I decided to give Dindigul Thalappakatti a try. Located at the far end of MG Road, this restaurant doesn't feel huge but there is seating for plenty and is well lit. The washrooms are very clean and the service is good and the servers are friendly.

Coming to the menu, they have the usual north and south Indian type dishes but a lot of unique items as well like the Chicken Porichadu which is excellent not too spicy, not too sweet, just perfect. Their Chicken 65 Biryani was also very different from the spicy Andhra biryanis of Meghana's, Nandhana's and all. The rice is short grained but very tasty and the Chicken 65 (Boneless) chunks very cooked very well and equally tasty. Other items worth trying are the Mutton Nalli Chops, Egg Curry, Phulkas and how can I forget Jigarthanda, a refreshing drink made of almond tree sap and ice cream that is just the perfect finish to an amazing lunch. However, the Paneer Gravy and Paneer Tikka can be skipped as they are not that great, stick to the non veg items only.

I visited this place around 12:30 in the afternoon and make sure you do too as it can get really, really crowded around 1pm (Remember how I said its not a huge place). If you are bored of trying the same types of spicy biryani and kebabs give this place a try. #biryani #nonvegetarian #restaurant...

Wed afternoon a busy day but to the disappointment no parotta was available. So we had to order mutton Biryani and chicken 65 Biryani. Mutton peices in biryani was very chewy last time it was better. Prawn sukka- perfect taste on the downside few prawns still had shell. Nalli roast - I personally dint like it something wrong with the masala blend Dragon chicken - good taste Kalaki - regular kalaki Service seemed slow and I felt they were not attentive may be they lack employees to take orders Just when we were about to leave I noticed that the other table was being served parotta when I enquired about parotta as I felt I could take a parcel they said it is coming from the main kitchen for kids. I really couldn't understand the point what she was trying to say. Then noticed that other tables even adults were being served parotta. My guess is that parotta had come late from the main kitchen she could have told me that but instead she gave me a very lame reason that it was being served for kids cause they were hungry, I could clearly see other adults also have it. I dono why this lady would lie or tell such a reason. I came for a good experience and left with a bad mood after this event. I request the management to be very clear in what they convey to customer cause people will walk away if such...
