We were there at Casa Maya last weekend. Abhjitit and Gita are the caretakers of the property. Abhijit the care taker was travelling from home town and Gita was there. She greeted the family with a smile. She moved luggage with us and showed us the place and we instinctively found a home connection with the house. Home away from home.. so much peace, greenery, places to laze around, clean pool and was wow. I know Rounak and his wife Jhanvi since 2014 and always thought of coming and staying. So I had booked it through Rounak and to my surprise both of them came to see us was so so overwhelming for us. We sat and talked and talked away till they had to go but gave us some tips of good places to eat. We also went on a scooter to a place as he told me I will not find it.. we went and had food instantly and wow it was superb home cooked food.. something we often want to have as soon as we enter goa.. Next day Geeta made us Ros omelette...wow authentic lip smacking...superbly made.. Abhijit joined the next day and was every smiling always willing to go the extra mile to help out..whatever time it was.. both of them manage the guests superbly and pamper them to no limits.. I have already started missing Casa Maya. The pool was cleaned daily and the team ensured every day was rooms were cleaned and place was sick and span from the inside and the outside. We spent quality time sitting just in the house with our kids lazing around on the wonderfully thought sofas ,light music making the stay so eventful. Every morning we used to have tea under the lovely shades of Casa maya in the corner near the bamboo trees..just sitting and see around gives so much solace of how beautiful the sky can be..with coconut trees all round the property. I just can't stop talking of it. Gita and Abhijit both cook their own dishes very well and trust me it superb and authentic. The last day we met Rounak and Jhanvi again in Panjim. We rocked the night . What an experience. 4days just flew by and wished we could have stayed back furter to get pampered some more but we had to head home back.. Thanks Raunak, jhanvi once again for the lovely time at Casa Maya and hoping to come some day soon to...
Read moreWonderful stay right in the heart of the city, tucked away in one corner surprisingly away from urban noise and chaos. We had our doubts being that it is in one of the most commercialised areas of goa. But we were pleasantly surprised. It's a small Portuguese style ancestral property with a private pool that's cleaned daily, and a backyard. We stayed as a family of 4 for 10 days and it truly helped us relax. Raunak, the owner, is very welcoming and will make sure that you have a comfortable stay. He helped us out on several occasions; we needed one of us to be dropped urgently to the airport, my mother needing something from the market, giving us great food recommendations for the best local eating experience in Candolim, etc. Special mentions also for Geeta (the cook and domestic worker) and Abhijit who stays on the property. Geeta makes a mean Goan style fish masala fry and it was heavenly to come back to, especially after getting badly battered by the sea on most days. If one wishes to stay in, she'll take care of your food needs. Abhijit diligently maintains and cleans the pool and property. Can help get you anything you need in a jiffy. Great staff.
It definitely helps that the beach and most eateries are at a walking distance from the villa. The villa itself is high roofed, with beautiful furniture, a bookshelf, tastefully built washrooms and a stocked kitchen.
Only issue with the experience was scrambling to find car parking, so if you get a car of your own, finding parking spots during the weekends can be a bit of a struggle. There's designated parking in front of Newton's supermarket (which is right opposite the lane of the villa) and infront of manystores along the line of Newton's.
Very happy overall and would 10/10 recommend for family or groups of...
Read moreTravelling with a Pet can be challenging especially when you want to find a best accommodation where your Pet can feel secure, has ample of place to play and relax. We have travelled to Goa multiple times but this was the second with our Pet Girl Aura. During my research i came across Casa Maya in Candolim area, we looked at the pictures of the Villa and we were in awe. We contacted the owner and it was extremely nice of him to respond to me immediately although he was not India. He suggested that before we book, we can go and have a look at the villa. Guess what next day we checked into the Villa. A quaint villa in Candolim, beautiful 2 bedrooms and huge patio and garden. And an almost full size pool. It was luxurious experience. Aura had an awesome time playing in the garden and wouldn't want to get inside the villa as the garden was more appealing to her. The caretaker of the house Abhijit was extremely courteous and also offered to make dinner for us :). One of the most delicious Mackerel Fish , Chicken Curry , and dal. When we were here, he made sure our stay is comfortable. He also played with Aura for a while so that we can enjoy the pool. The cook makes amazing aloo paratha's. Only drawback is you have to park the car ahead of Newtons. Overall, honestly once you are in the villa you don't want to go...
