We are a well-travelled couple who has been on a Staycation - Working from Home in Goa since Dec 2020. We keep changing our hotels every 3 - 4 weeks. Certainly as we are checking in for long stays hence we do speak to the Sales Managers and try to work out a deal for ourselves.
We visited The Lohias Resort at Candolim last evening i.e 11 March 2021 and checked the rooms and the property. Everything was impeccable â the staff was very humble and warm. The front office gave us a rate and we informed them that it would be a long stay; they checked with their manager and got back with a meagre reduction .
Hence, we requested to speak to the Sales Head â who apparently is Mr. Rajdeep Jha. First we were told he is busy doing Puja and he should meet us in a while, we waited patiently, then we were told he is on a concall with the MD, we waited patiently, then we were told to leave our contact details and he would call us in a few mins. We did so but received no call and returned to meet him an hour later. He came walking towards us with a straight face - staring at us in disgust, though he made us feel very uncomfortable, my husband got up and greeted him and introduced himself and me â he replied sternly with a straight face and flared nostrils â my husband requested him to sit so that we could talk. He chose to sit really far away from him, I mean even crossing the social distancing norms.
My husband started to explain to him that we were now looking at a longer stay and would like to see what deal can be worked out. He replied: I THINK MY TEAM TOLD YOU Rs X/ night and THAT IS AFTER I CONFIRMED TO THEM HOWELSE COULD THEY SAY SO. He was extremely rude, his tone, his stare and the attitude he exuded made us feel humiliated. I cant et the right words but he made us feel like we were begging him, he looked like why are you here, you are wasting my time!
Mind you Mr. Jha â you exist because you get customers, yes who doesnât want good deals for long stays? Even you would try. The Lohias is a beautiful property and as much as we chose to make it our abode for the next couple of weeks, your arrogance, temperament and demeaning attitude made us simply thank you politely and walk out within a minute or two. Leaving an extremely foul impression of the Lohia.
He did not smile, did not greet us, ⌠my husband did what he was supposed to instead. No apology for making us wait nothing.
Have met a lot of General Managers and members of the Management Committee on this trip but surely no one like you. I do hope we do not come across anyone like you ever again.
PS: Mr. MD of Lohias, humbly request you to teach this gentleman the basics of your industry, ways of business , hospitality and being human. Sales happen because customers like us and not him! A salesman cant sell if there is no customer. I usually donât do reviews but I have been very disturbed since I this experience, I wished for once that I was those kinds who could show him his place but unlike him we canât and donât believe in...
Read moreI recently stayed at a hotel that left me with a rather average experience overall. While there were some positive aspects, the lack of separation between vegetarian and non-vegetarian food was a significant drawback. Here's my detailed review:
Accommodation: The hotel offered comfortable and clean rooms, which were well-maintained and provided a decent level of comfort. The beds were cozy, and the housekeeping staff did a good job of keeping everything tidy. However, the room lacked certain amenities that one might expect from a higher-rated hotel.
Service: The hotel staff was generally friendly and approachable, and they responded promptly to our requests. However, I did encounter a few instances where the service was a bit slow, and some staff members seemed less attentive than others. Overall, the service was acceptable but not exceptional.
Food: This is where the hotel fell short. The lack of separation between vegetarian and non-vegetarian food options was a major disappointment. As a vegetarian, I found it challenging to navigate through the dining options. The buffet area had non-vegetarian dishes placed right next to vegetarian ones, resulting in a risk of cross-contamination. It would have been preferable to have separate sections or even designated serving utensils for vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. This oversight made it difficult for me to enjoy my meals without any concerns.
Additionally, the quality and variety of the food were underwhelming. The flavors were average at best, and the selection was limited, especially for vegetarians. The lack of vegetarian options and the unsatisfactory taste left much to be desired.
Amenities: The hotel offered some basic amenities such as a fitness center and a swimming pool, but they were not particularly impressive. The fitness center was small and lacked proper equipment maintenance. The pool area was decent, but it could have been better maintained and more inviting.
Location: The hotel was conveniently located near popular attractions, making it easy to explore the surrounding areas. However, the immediate vicinity lacked charm, and the noise from nearby traffic was noticeable at times.
Value for Money: Considering the average quality of the hotel's facilities and services, the overall value for money was questionable. Although the room rates were not exorbitant, the underwhelming food and lackluster amenities made it difficult to feel that the stay was worth the price paid.
In conclusion, my hotel stay experience was fairly average. While the rooms were comfortable, the lack of separation between vegetarian and non-vegetarian food options was a significant drawback. The quality and variety of the meals were underwhelming, leaving little to be desired for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. If you are particular about food preferences or have dietary restrictions, I would recommend exploring other options before...
Read moreWell located, decent rooms. That's where the good stuff ends unfortunately.
The reception staff is very annoying and very in your face. On the first day the person who brought our luggage up even though we insisted we don't need help kept lingering at the door waiting for a tip and it quickly became an awkward situation until he finally left us in peace. They also called me every single day, both on the hotel room phone and on my cellphone to ask if everything was okay. It's thoughtful the first couple of times but by day 5 it's exhausting. Parking situation can be rough, they ask you to deposit your car keys with them but won't take it from you and park your vehicle If you urgently need it. Case in point, I just got back from a 2 hour drive and because there weren't any good restrooms along the way I REALLY had to pee, very urgently. I enter the parking bay and all the slots are taken, so I park in the driveway so I can pee in the ground floor restroom and quickly move the car, but their security guards insisted I park in the adjacent parking lot, which I had no idea about in the first place, or I would've parked there to begin with. I ask if I can quickly go pee and come back, this guy flat out refuses, I ask if he can park the car while I use the restroom he refuses that as well, so now I'm turning the car around in an already limited space, driving over to the adjacent plot and parking carefully to avoid damaging the car because of the uneven plot, all while having to pee extremely urgently. Not a pleasant experience by any means. The room door lock was damaged as if it had been forced open, it kept making the alarm sounds even when it was closed, but we put up with it because it still worked, even if just barely. On the last day, I was a little unwell and really wanted some water, so I call the reception to send me two bottles, they call me back to tell me I needed to call their restaurant and ask for the water instead of coordinating between themselves and just sending it to the room. I was so upset at that point I just ordered water through swiggy, and surprise surprise, they didn't let the delivery boy up, so I had to go to the reception and collect it myself. Do not recommend this place at all. Even when we were checking out, the reception staff was very pushy about leaving a review then and there. We had to underscore that we were leaving to the airport and had to get going. The housekeeping staff is...
