Hotel Elite — Hotel in Kerala

As a part of our visit to Guruvayoor, we booked a five bed non AC Deluxe room in Elite, based on the google reviews and images referred. As any one could see, their reception and corridors are neatly maintained. However, the room for which we paid 2600 rupees(per night) was below average ones. The hotel being an old one left all traces of its age in the room. The images that we could get online is far removed from reality(atleast for the room which we got). They claim that they have proper room services. But even at 10 pm there was no one to respond to phone call. There are numerous number of mosquitos in the room. And we had no choice, other than to take the mosquito bites. Mosquitos and the white colored dust that could be evidently seen the walls made the night a sleepless one. Inspite of paying 2600 this is what we got from Elite. To say about the bathroom condition, even though the bathroom fittings look old due to its age, they tried to clean it as much as they can. However, we would hesitate for a minute before using the bathroom(especially the bucket and mug). And finally we would use it as we are left with no other choice. Stayed there on the Monday 11th september and tuesday 12th septemeber . Reached the hotel at 1 pm 12.30 pm from cochin airport . the hotel gives room from 3 PM , but they had rooms and gave us the roo, 108 and 109 .||I had stayed in this hotel 36 years back and had apprehension for stay but still i wanted to stay here as my wife has difficulty in walking .Also the hotels near pilgrimage centre may not be hygene and clean . Hotel elite was refurbished and clean and hygene||You can book the hotel through the phone only and the issues is very difficult to get them on the phone and may be they have issue of lanaguage .||Mr.Mukesh and Miss Sreejha at the reception have been great help||the hotel has a wheel chair ( need to be repalced ) and we took the wheel chair to temple entrance and we have requested a person help to push the wheel chair and wait . They dont have a person but there was person who finished his duty and offered to help .May be they can offer the services of wheel chair and charge for the same .||their restuarnt serves vegetaraion food . The meal is Rs 125 and it is filling and with good portions , I would definetly recoomed this hotel for stay for their cleanliness and courteous staff . I stayed in AC room for a night. The price was 2820 including GST. But not worth it, the reasons were:

1. Welcome kit consists of 2 small soaps and 2 sach of shampoo (I never saw such a rubbish kit in my life, at least they should include a tooth paste with it) - This review could be avoided bcoz it differs from person to person.
2. We spotted lot of small insects in our bed, couldn't find the initial point.
3. Whole room has only one plug point besides the bed (Total rubbish).
4. Finally one was interesting & everyone should aware of this scam activity - In the final bill they quoted 22rs for a bottle of water, I asked the person in the counter about it (Y 22rs, it costs only 20rs) and the answer was "Sir it was the room service so 2rs extra (but it was not and I made it cleared), then his 2nd answer was , Sir it varies on the quality of water, this is Aquafina" LOL!!I showed him the price in the bottle as 20rs. Then he couldn't deny it finally. Settled 1820rs instead of 1822rs.

The fact, this is not the matter of 2rs but its regarding the trust and customer service. I won't suggest this hotel to anyone in the future. But if there s no option take it and be clear with them. Another person had a similar issue with the room tariff at the day of...
