My name is Manu. I run a bespoke furniture manufacturing and interior contracting company in Chennai. It was in early February, my wife and I decided to take a trip.

We were in Fort Kochi, from the 16th -18th Feb 2023. Our first trip with child. As parents of an 18 month old boy, we were going to need all the help we could get. Our plan: to visit the Kochi Biennale 2023 and try to cover as much ground (as possible) in two days.

Mai House is the labour of love of Liju Baby and his wife, Lijy. The property has 8-9 well appointed rooms, and attentive, service oriented staff who afforded us every courtesy during our stay to make sure that we and the child were comfortable.

We were entertaining guests who were international designers and architects and people who looking to get the best out of the Biennale experience. I can safely say, that we had many a productive discussion safely sheltered in the corridors of this tharavaad style house; or, beat the heat in style at The Mango Showers restaurant.

The kitchen staff was very attentive to our needs, and on more than one occasion, custom made meals for my son. Another occasion that truly stands out was: most of our guests were international artists and architects. One of them in particular, was from the Northern region of Spain (Galicia) they are a seafaring, fishing folk. The steward expertly recommended a delicious Karimeen Fish Moilee; paired with some hot-off-the-tava crispy Parota. One bite in, and she was immediately transported to her fondest memories of how to savour the best taste of the fish.

They are a new property, for sure. Barely a couple months old. But, if they keep this up, they are sure to be...

Some days are very important in life and these are days where you want your family or loved ones to gain the amazing experience along with the one who are hosting the event.

Sonia and me hosted a lunch meal for our very very close family and the planning was very crucial for the 27th April Lunch meal.

I have to say the time we spent from the first day landing in your hotel and the conversation we had with Shebin was very warm , the notes taken by him were very carefully executed and exercised by the rest of the team .

Bala the one looking after this table was absolutely fantastic and the words are not enough to thank him enough for his kindness and his fine hospitality, with attention to details to ensure the flow of service was seemingly smooth ! The quality of food was great and we both are just ever grateful to each one of you the parts you played .

The thought process to give the garlands , especially by the reception team inviting and welcoming us at the entrance was very beautiful.

These memories will go for life and our family have commented everything was very very beautifully done !!
