This was my third stay at “Idha Artists’ Gallery— Stay with Art” in the last two years, and it truly feels like my other home in Fort Kochi. If you’re seeking a stay that’s more than just a room, this place wraps you in creativity, warmth, and calm from the moment you arrive. Idha is lovingly run by two eminent artists, Sandhyambika and Sidharthan, whose kindness and quiet brilliance shape everything here. They don’t just “host”; they welcome with warmth, curiosity, and with an artist’s eye for what you might need before you have words for it. Their presence is what makes ‘Idha’ extraordinary: unhurried conversations over coffee, gentle guidance if you’re curious to try your hand at art, and the rare chance to watch an artist at work, utterly mesmerising and deeply therapeutic. If you’ve ever wanted to try art yourself, even for a few days they are delightfully encouraging teachers. With gentle guidance and zero pressure, they nudge you past hesitation into play. It’s not about getting it “right”; it’s about getting closer to yourself. That, to me, is Idha’s real gift. You don’t just look at art here, you live with it!. The rooms and passageways flow into an in-house gallery, and the gallery spills back into the rooms. Every corner holds something considered: a textured canvas, a sculptural form, a brush resting in a jar—signs of art as a way of life. The location is spot on. Step outside and you’re a short, pleasant walk from cafés, Ayurvedic centres, and the best of Fort Kochi’s sights. It’s ideal for slow exploration: morning art at Idha, a lazy brunch nearby, a meander through heritage lanes, perhaps a treatment in the afternoon, and then back “home” to the calm of the gallery. If you’re someone who seeks meaningful experiences, who believes a journey should touch the heart as much as the itinerary, come here. Let the art hold you. Try a brushstroke or two. Sit with the quiet. Wander out for coffee and wander back to colour and light. For me, Idha is a forever go-to—a blissful little nest I’m endlessly grateful to have found. Imagine waking up with greenery outside, artworks all around, and kindness in the air. That’s “Idha” and that’s why I’ll keep...

I recently spent three incredible days at Idha Artists' Gallery - Stay with Art, and I can honestly say it was exactly what my soul needed. Coming from a hectic work schedule that had completely consumed me, I chose this place specifically to find some quiet time in Fort Kochi, to relax and rejuvenate myself before diving back into the chaos of everyday life. This cozy haven exceeded every expectation. The location is absolutely perfect – within walking distance of all the best places to eat and drink in Fort Kochi. But what truly sets this place apart is the art. If you're someone who appreciates paintings and creative expression, this is definitely where you need to stay. The walls are adorned with amazing artwork that creates an inspiring atmosphere throughout your visit. The architecture is authentically Kerala – a traditional building with beautiful woodwork and abundant greenery that immediately transports you to a more peaceful state of mind. But honestly, the best thing about this place isn't the art or the architecture – it's the people. Sadhyambika was an absolutely amazing host. We had the most wonderful conversations that were both engaging and deeply relaxing. Trust me when I say this: get up, sit at that dining table, and just talk. That's where the real magic of this place reveals itself. Those conversations became the highlight of my entire stay. If you've come to Fort Kochi to truly relax and have decided to take life slow for a while, this is absolutely the place to stay. My recommendation? Don't just stay for a weekend – stay for a week. Give yourself the time to fully relax, to explore the beauty of Kerala at your own pace, and to connect with the incredible people you'll meet here. This isn't just accommodation; it's a transformative experience. Idha Artists' Gallery isn't just a place to rest your head – it's a sanctuary for anyone looking to reconnect with themselves and the simple...
Read moreMy recent experience at the Idha’s Art Gallery and the Airbnb stay hosted by Sidharthan and Sandhyambika was a truly memorable and I felt like I was at home. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by Ali(Caretaker) followed by Sandhya Chechi and Sidharthan Chettan with warm hospitality and here are some of my the highlights from my experience.
The art gallery was a hidden gem on Peter Celli Street, vibrant and filled with people clicking pics on the street. where I had the pleasure of immersing myself in a world of beautiful artwork. Chetan and Chechi helped me understand the diverse collection showcased. It was clear that the curators had a deep appreciation for art, and it was a delightful experience to explore the different pieces and installations.
The highlight of my visit was exploring the gallery, and sharing multiple meals with the family and they were so accommodating and went out of their way to make me feel at home which left a lasting impression on me.
The location was perfect, just a short walk from the art gallery, making it convenient to explore both the art and the city.
Communication with Bhavana was excellent. She provided clear instructions, offered local recommendations, and ensured that I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay.
Combining a visit to the art gallery with an Airbnb stay was a brilliant idea, allowing me to enjoy both the vibrant art scene and the comforts of a home away from home. This unique experience added a whole new dimension to my trip, and I'm grateful to both Idha’s art gallery and Sidharthan Chettan and Sandhya Chechi for making it possible.
If you're looking for a blend of artistic inspiration and comfortable accommodation, this is the perfect combination. I would absolutely recommend it for an unforgettable and enriching experience.
Thank you for a fantastic stay and an artful journey I won't soon...
