I was on a look out for hotels around Borivali East area as my office in nearby. There wasn't much luck as I only managed to find my choices limited to Granville Hotel or Maharaja Hotel.
Looking at the photos and several reviews written by other folks, I thought, HEY... this place isn't that bad. Boy... was that the worst mistake ever!
Let's start with the review:
The check-in reception was a small like room the size of a washroom. Checking in was a tedious process of filling up a manual register --- that's fine. The worse news was there ... there was NO ROOM KEY provided at all ... yup .. that's right. You aren't given a room key. No card .. not even a physical key. Reception had to call some fella to bring you to the room, open the door and left you wondering who has your room key. Went back downstairs to find out that a room key is not provided ... everytime I leave the room, they had to open the door for you ... that's plan RIDICULOUS!
Fine ... thought that was the worst. Looking around the room .. it smelt just of moth balls. It's like they taken a whole bunch of moth ball and tossed them all around the room. Just like in Disney Hotels where you could go treasure hunting for "hidden mickeys" ... here, you can go hunting for moth balls.
The bed sheet was so stained... I seriously dreaded who or WHAT has slept in the bed previously. bad bad bad bad bad!
Washroom had no curtains or divided between the toilet bowl and shower. Everytime you took a shower, the toilet paper gets a soaking. What kinda design is that? And again... wall and window are full of grime and so run down. The shower just gives you a feeling NOT to take a shower every again in here.
More moth balls in the sink.
No washroom amenities provided at all (not like I would use them after looking at the condition of the room).
The breakfast in the morning was dreadful! Only sandwiches and a few other choice provided in the breakfast area. No service at all .. only one waiter standing at the entrance doing absolutely nothing.
There's a friggin astray in the room as well ... I seriously hope someone starts a fire and give this place a thorough cleansing.
All in all ... my conclusion ... FORGET ABOUT STAYING HERE .. unless you are seriously into torturing yourself.
If you stay on lower floors .. you're going to enjoy listening to the kitchen : cooking and cleaning ... also the traffic at...
Read moreHi. I booked a deluxe room for me &my family in Hotel Granville Greens Borivali west mumbai for 2 nights through MMT app. I will be honest with you guys..my experience was not good. I will keep it simple. The walls were dirty. Not cleaned or painted in years. The STB was of the lowest quality. The TV remote was missing. No instructions on how to use the safe. The AC was controlled by the staff. (It got hot or cold without warning). Overwhelming smell of naphthalene balls. The wardrobe had a single hanger. 7.The sliding windows were locked and they refused to open at first. (I had a panic attack which led to calling an mmt representative for cancellation. After the call, the staff agreed to open it after contacting the owner. Fyi i am claustrophobic and the room was a shoe box.) The floors were not dusted or mopped. Unclean, stained, smelly bedsheets/pillows & blankets.(which they didnt change even when i had asked them to.) I paid Rs.1400/- for 2 nights for an extra bed and they provided me with a 3 way folding mattress, a bed sheet a blanket & 2 small pillows stuffed in one pillow case. They made a guest sleep on the floor. That is wrong & unfair. The pillows provided were big and hard enough to give you serious neck pain. Noisy corridors and the doors banging will startle you all night. The plates were old, the glasses were unwashed the cutlery was dirty and rusty. The food was strictly ok but oily and overpriced. Add the GST and voila a nightmare for middle class people. The balcony had not been cleaned in ages. There is more but alas no more space to write. But you all get the gist..this place is not worth your hard...
Read moreRooms smell of cigarettes. they don't even have kettles, so had to ask the hotel to boil mineral water. they brought it to us in a flask and charge 47rupees for it. as i poured it into a glass, i noticed it had a lot of small particles of dirt or something more dangerous form inside the flask! I think it would have made me very ill and i can probably get the hotel shut down if i was to show it to local inspectors! It was absolutely disgusting, and who knows what the water was infested with! They fooled us into thinking for 2 days the internet was working, but something was wrong with our phones. When i shouted at them they realised the internet actually doesn't work at all!!! At breakfast, the waiter asked me if i want a dosa i said yes, he asked plain or masala. i said plain. 30 mins later i asked hm where it is, he said, they actually don't do dosa! and he didn't even come back to tell me its only because i asked him. Breakfast is very poor, no choice, its as struggle to even find a waiter to help, they all disappear and do no work. the cleaners don't actually clean your room until you physically one and drag them to your room. And no one tells you this on check in. there are different rates for the hotel, they charge you based on what you look like i think! they have a 'luxury tax' of 18% which should not be paid as there is no way its a luxury hotel! There are mosquitoes everywhere I've been bitten to many times, this usually doesn't happen if the air con is quite powerful. the hotel lobbies are very dirty, infested with mosquitoes, just walking out of your room you are destined to be bitten at...
