I am a Gujarati and the world knows how fancy we are in terms of having food, especially our favorite food. Hence I was looking for a place since quite some time where I would get the typical Gujarati nashta and I don’t have to step out of my house. I found this place and it also had one of my other favorites, that is Rabdi 😍

Rabdi Wala has a variety of Rabdis including sugar free Rabdi, Shahi Gulkand Rabdi and Laccha rabdi to name a few. The menu consists of a wide range including chat, pav bhaji, Thalis, proper main course, etc. The packaging was very robust and nothing was spilled or lost its form. Hygiene wise everything was on point as the wallet was wearing a mask and Zomato and the restaurant make sure the other measures are followed.

Food

The best thing about Navratri is the amazing fast (Upwas) food and things that you have on Dussehra which won’t be complete without FAFDA and JALEBI. I ordered both 😍. The taste was so authentic. The fafda were crisp. It reminded me of the trip to Gujarat. It came with sweet and spicy chutneys (Sauces) and papaya salad which everyone loved with fafda and jalebi.

Jalebis are something that I generally do not like much and not one of my favorites but during festivals like this and the combination of Jalebi with fafda and rabdi makes it heavenly. The jalebis were still warm and they were crispy too. If, tried in combination with fafda, nothing can beat the taste. It was garnished with dry fruit powder as you can see in the pictures.

Desserts

I can’t believe I am getting all my favorites at one place. So, I wanted Laccha rabdi but unfortunately, I was late to order as it was finished and it would take some time to be prepared hence, I went for Dry fruit rabdi which was amazing but I want to talk about their specialty which is SHAHI GULKAND RABDI. I ordered 100gms because I wanted to try it. It was a thick rabdi and you could smell gulkand even before consuming it. Though I love dry fruit rabdi but gulkand rabdi over powered it. Being a specialty, it is nominally priced.

Another item ordered was Khaman Dhokla. Unique desserts to try at Rabdi wala would be Choco Lava Rabdi and Pineapple Jalebi Rabdi. It even sounds so amazing, isn't it? Had one of the best breakfasts since lockdown. I would recommend this place to try any of the stuff that I had and try a few specialty which is mentioned on their Zomato page. This place is quite economical.

First of all, I hope everyone is doing great, is safe and healthy during this tragic pandemic situation. I know, we all are scared and have concerns with regard to outside food and the basic hygiene. So, let me assure you about the hygiene protocols at Rabdiwala, Borivali Outlet. It is completely safe and healthy to order food from this outlet. They are thoroughly following the precautions and regular checks.

Now, about the food and its taste what we actually are dying to eat since this pandemic started.

I was really excited that, I could finally get something delicious to eat from somewhere, rather than cooking since last 3 months.

So, I ordered this 'Man Pasand Thali' which includes 2 choices of Sabzi, and 1 choice of Roti/Rice; and a Raita along with it.

About the Delivery and Packaging: The meal was very well packed. Tightly sealed, there were no leakages. It was wrapped completely in another envelope which was again sealed completely. The delivery boy was wearing gloves and mask, he also followed the protocol of zero contact delivery. This in turn made me feel more safe.

The Food & its taste: My meal consisted of the following items. Gatte ka Sabzi Ohh! I'm myself from Rajasthan, so I am fond of the taste of Rajasthani food. When I see Gatte ka sabzi in the menu, I just cant hold myself back. So, I ended up ordering the same.

The 'Gattes' were amazingly cooked, very soft and well boiled. I could actually taste each ingredient. They were so well boiled, that I did not find a need to use my teeth to chew it/bite it, just melted in the mouth. The gravy was well cooked, the spices were well fried. Now the shocking part was, I been a Rajasthani have never seen this Gatte ka sabji made in the gravy of Tomatoes and Onion. The patent method is to cook in Chaas or dahi. But, I was really satisfied by the taste and the way it was cooked in tomato and Onion gravy with lot of other ingredients.

Truly! For the first time, I ate such a different style Gatte Ka Sabji, well cooked, mouth watering taste. (MUST TRY)

Baigan Bharta: Well, it was very properly cooked. But to my experience, it was bit on a bitter side. May be because of the breed of Baigan(egg plant) that was used was not the actual baigan that usualy should have been used to prepare a bharta. Also, normally, baigan bharta gives you the burnt taste, the aroma is lil bit on burnt side, because of the way baigan is cooked and it actually adds a amazing taste to the gravy of bharta. So, honestly, bharta lovers, I would not recommend this.

Breads: I ordered 2 chappatis and 2 Theplas The theplas were very soft with proper balance of Methi. Chappatis were good as well.

Overall to my experience, Radlbdiwala is a great place for now to order home deliveries given the current situations outside, taste is amazing. One must try the theplas and Gate ka Sabji.

🤔Finding best hotel on the busy street of mumbai is always problem. Some provide great taste but too much expensive and some is not able to deliver taste that we want although they are not that much expensive.But Rabdi Wala Is exception from this great taste at great price. Perfect place for Jain,Rajasthani and Gujrati cuisine.👩‍🍳

6)🍱Manpasand Thali : My Customize Thali a)Baigan Bharta : Crazy taste of Baigan with tangy gray.Truely taste of baigan ka bharta you can feel from it.i will more happier if they had peanut crush in to it . b)Raj Shahi Kathod : Truely Rajstani dish with legume. It should be more spicy then it will taste much better. c)Bajre ka Rotla: Go for bajre ka rostla it will give you more fiber than any bread and simply best with baigan ka bharta. 🤩 Beingfoodieforever Recommended🤩

7)🍛Surrti Undhiyu with Chappati: Perfect gujrati dish with lots of vegetables with different kind of spices.sweet in taste so tangy taste fans don't go for this. This will best with theplas.
