Taste is Okay!

Post lockdown planning to dine in with street food options. This place is quite popular for its pav bhaji options but now they have made new additions to the menu with Italian and chinese items . Located at borivali West at shimpoli. There is indoor A/c seating. The ambience is all fine with yellow lights. There is no parking space so plan accordingly.

In frame -

1. paneer Kolhapuri pav bhaji - the quantity is sufficient to serve 2 people. This dish is more of like the main course Veg Kolhapuri with chunks of paneer and all the veggies in the spices. Served with butter pav, salad and papad.

2. black pav bhaji - this is the signature dish of the outlet with their secret ingredients. It's all mildly spiced and worth the hype.

3. honey chilli potato - sliced potatoes tossed in chilli sauce and glazed with honey has that sweet and tangy flavour to it.

4. Pani puri - Loved the panibpuri which has 3 flavours to it, viz, Peru, mint and garlic. The garlic flavour is a bit overpowering however the meetha chutney gives it a subtle flavour. My choice would be the Peru one.

5)jumbo cheese sandwich pudla - this is basically bread coated in gramflour batter and topped with all the veggies and garnished with cheese.served with meetha, red and mint chutney. Loved it.

6)spring onion - veggies stuffed in wheat sheets and deep fried are good for starters.

Had heard about this joint since a long time and wanted to give it a try. Had seen a lot of videos and articles about their Black Pav Bhaji which is the unique and best selling item of this place. Trust me the taste is worth the hype. They make pav bhaji near the entrance area and just as you enter the sitting area may it be the A/c or Non A/c one you get the amazing aroma of fresh bhaji being made which can make any first timer or even a regular one to make it the first thing they order. Their service is quick and waiters are friendly. Talking about the Black bhaji it's amazing. They have some secret masala which gives it that black taste and spicy flavour. The bhaji is spicy and it hits you in your throat, people with less spice tolerance can go for the regular Red bhaji. They even offer bhaji in other colours too like Red, Green and couple of others. I tried the Black and Red one both were good but Black one stands out as being a Mumbaikar we have had Red Pav Bhaji at various places. I even tried their Mushroom Delight Pizza and that was amazing too. Usually such joints offer typical pizzas which have typical toppings and baked but here they make their pizza's the way it should be made. It came with a thin crust and made with mozzarella cheese ( yes you get that pull of cheese when you take a bite 😉) So out and out the place delivers what it promises taste, quality, quantity everything is amazing.
