Verdict: Westerners, AVOID this place.
Descriptive The hotel is located in a side alley, easy to miss or consider dubious The surrounding is very lively during day hours, less populated after business hours
Positive The reception is staffed at all times, also room service employees are available 24 hours a day. The staff was motivated to help whenever possible, changing the dirty bedsheets we faced upon arrival when requested, quickly The floors and furniture were seemingly of luxury material (marble) Our room did not have bedbugs, nor many mosquitos
Negative The rooms are not up to western cleanliness standards: Upon arrival there were dirty bedsheets, stained towels, filthy pillows, broken toilet seat and lid, toilet bowl full of poo stain from previous visitors (!), making us question if anything is sanitary at all. The walls are thin, and depending on your room, you hear a lot of noise. Nights were governed by the staff being on their phones without headphones, making their social media content resonate through the hallways. After repeated complaints to the staff at midnight to kindly keep the noise down to let us sleep, noise paused until ~5am. Most of the staff is unable to communicate in basic english, making me rely on sign language to get my request for an undisturbed night's sleep across. After both nights that we stood there, I developed rashes on my armpits and belly, possibly from contact with the bedsheets, as the rashes appeared overnight and disappeared during the day.
Maybe this level of noise and unsanitary conditions is to be expected from this are of mumbay, but we were not happy with our stay at all. If you have European or American expectations of sanitation, do not consider this place an option. We should have bailed out (and checked the bathroom for cleanliness and sanitation) before deciding to stay here.
Edit: I feel like the 5-star reviews either differ strongly in their expectation of cleanliness and comfort, or are simply bought. Also, contrary to other reviews, the water is not free but...
Read moreDon't let the fotos fool you! They seem to be years old, if not edited. We only stayed because one of us was too sick to travel any longer and because the internet in the area was too bad to search for a different hotel. The employees were super loud all day and night long, always on their phones scrolling TikTok or arguing in the hallway. Besides that, the hotel is located in a sketchy alley that smelled very bad more often than not. To reach it, one very narrow elevator was the only means, wouldn't recommend that with large luggage. Large luggage also wouldn't have fit inside the room. The bathroom was old and dirty, as was all furniture. Moreover, the toilet seat was broken in such way that it was not attached to the toilet bowl anymore. After requesting, the bedsheets were exchanged under our watch, but all had persisting stains, as had the towels. The AC was very loud as well and the room had no windows. We were offered two different rooms and finally decided for the room without windows because it was slightly larger. With the third bed inside, however, walking was almost impossible, even though we had very little luggage. We booked it because it seemed very close to the main tourist sightseeing attractions. However it turned out a hotel in a more quiet neighborhood would have been better, since it was impossible to call an uber directly to the hotel entrance which is located in the middle of a busy, loud market. During the day, even reaching a goal walking proved to be a challenge. A hotel close to one of the main streets would have served us better in the end, because of the heavy traffic in the area of this hotel and because taxis were cheap and busses available. In the end it was doable because we stayed only 2 nights and spent all day outside, or in case of the sick part of the group, in bed.
Positive: convenient bus stop nearby for reaching the gateway of India, AC in the room, no bedbugs, many shops selling cold...
Read moreI have been a customer of this hotel for the last 3 years and stayed here many times. Recently, I booked for 2 days. The check-out time was 10:00 AM, but since the hotel has a common washroom, I got delayed and could only check out around 11:00 AM.
For this 1-hour delay, I was charged ₹300 extra, which I feel is very unfair. As a loyal customer, I expected more understanding. In such situations, the hotel could charge something minimal like ₹100, instead of such a high penalty — especially when the delay is not fully the guest’s fault.
The stay was otherwise fine, but this experience left a bad impression. I request the management to show more flexibility for long-time customers and to keep late checkout charges reasonable. Good hospitality is not just about rooms, but also about how you treat your...
