Shallow waters only make noise! Average place, average experience, average food quality with extraordinary prices!
Ok, the ambience and vibe is good.
If you are pure veg and not too urban, this place is surely not for u.
It starts from the menu card. The food menu itself is not user friendly. Menu card font is very small and blurry, menu cards are old and fragile. The online menu cards are not easily accessible. The veg and non veg options are not clearly segregated. How come on earth will any educated individual understand the small red heart means non veg! Alas! Green dot is veg, red dot is non veg, please follow some standards signatures for god's sake! You guys also need to name the delicacies as per few set standards, the menu sounds Greek Latin. For a moment I thought m too illiterate. I struggled through the menu card and finally called waiter and asked "Bhaisahab, veg me acha kya milta hai yaha, suggest Karo!"
Veg options are very few, and not worth. I had some veg pizza (2nd option from Pizza list, lol don't remember name) and it was OK. Nothing great, Domino's is better. We ordered some Paneer starter (Tofu option with tooth picks, lol don't remember the name), and that too was OK, it had some unfamiliar odour! We ordered Ogleo Oleo- (The only veg option in Pasta list, which looked like maggi, please forgive me for the sick spelling and pronunciation). The noodles were chewy and not soft. Again, OK. I asked the Bhaisahaab, a good mocktail - so bhaisahab said, some random sick mocktail, which is a mixture of melon, orange, lime, and mojito. I heard a mojito word at the end and had a sigh of relief, looks familiar and I went for it. That mocktail drink was good, blimey.
Cleanliness, i would have rated high only if we had not a surprise of hair strands in the Pasta. Ok, there was a hair we found in a pasta and we informed Bhaisahab, and he defended, but apologised and brought another plate of Pasta, so we were ok with it. But, guys, please take a good care of hygiene, specially when u r running a classy, urban, expensive restaurant, not acceptible.
Service, again average. The Lead Time is too high boss! We were like yawning, khaana kab aayga. Also, it is a basic part of service to keep serving water as and when the glasses are empty. No, there as well each one of us was lifting that heavy jar of water and serving ourselves. See, I know I am not some celebrity but a common man, but if I am paying huge bucks for service, over and above when the restaurant is charging me service charges, I do set high expectations and you failed to meet them. At ordinary restaurants, I am ok serving myself water, but ordinary restaurants make sure your water glasses are never empty, at least learn something from there boss! And yes, everytime we had to shout Bhaisahaab to come and talk to us, for orders. You guys need to train the staff to be courteous, as u r an urban, classy, expensive restaurant.
Please get a user friendly cutlery yaar. The plates, bowls are so damn heavy. The bowls were 5km in radius and the content area was very chotu, your tables aren't big enough to accommodate those heavy huge bowls with very small volume for food. The serving bowls were laughing at us, kaise Chu*banayaa! (Joke), but On a serious note, please increase the quantity. Your menu is way overpriced, the taste is OKish, nothing great. This is a thing in most of the BKC restaurants. Ok that's it!
I would not visit again here....
Read moreThis is a cute & cozy little casual dining outlet located in the heart of BKC. The interiors are quirky and eye catching. It's a great place to hang out in with a couple of friends and chit chat over some European delicacies. We dropped in on a Friday night and it was a nice peaceful dinner. You get your own private space, there is no much noise and the ambience is filled with lovely aroma of the food! We began our meal by ordering a couple of beverages (non-alcoholic) SHD Green Lady (Smoothie)- the key ingredients here are Avocado and Yogurt, with honey for natural sweetness and a tinge of pineapple for flavour.
Kiwi + Melon + Jasmine + Lemonade- loved the combination (Fresh fruit + Herb + Floral Infusions). This one was sweet, tangy and refreshing. Highly recommended.
More Melon (Cooler)- Water Melon with apple juice, flavoured with mint. Another one for those fond of sweet mocktails. This one too is refreshing plus the presentation is lovely!
Apple Soaked Mojito- Fresh apple & apple juice infused with mint, orange and jaggery, served in lemonade. This is a great energizer and goes well with your meal.
Moving on to the food, we ordered: Assorted (Veg) Bruschetta- you get 3 types of tiny Bruschetta pieces in this portion, w of each. The portion size is really small for the cost. The presentation looks good, but the dish tasted average overall.
Spiced Panko Chicken- sliced chicken breast pieces, marinated in spice and topped with panko crumbs, deep fried and served with garlic ranch. Expected alot from this, but the dish was so bland! The portion size is good for 3, hence worth it.
Grilled Chermoula Rubbed Chicken Skewers- charmoula is a marinade and relish used for meats, it's made from fresh herbs & spices and is mild in taste. The Skewers were nice and juicy, well marinated too. This is worth trying, a good change of flavour.
The SHD Club- this one is a club sandwich made of 2 layers. The 1st layer consists of ham, crispy bacon, egg fry and cheese while the second layer consists of chicken, tomatoes, onions and iceberg lettuce. This is a meal In itself. The sandwich is so filling and delicious, it was the perfect end to our meal!
Moving on to desserts, we ordered: Nutty Dark Chocolate & S'mores Torte- this one is marshmallow, cracker and melting chocolate put together into a rich, fudgy dark chocolate treat topped with almonds. Rich, decadent and blissful is how I would describe this one! Totally rave worthy. It's a mist try item from the menu.
Tiramisu- this one is made from espresso and a creamy lightly sweetened mascarpone cream. After the rich dark chocolate, this one was a good balance. It was light and fresh a d really nice is taste as well.
We had a beautiful time at Smoke House Deli, great staff but the service is a bit slow. Offers are always on,so make sure to ask your table manager about it to not miss out. The interiors are subtle though quirky, even the restroom is well kept which is a plus!
Overall rating: Ambience- 5/5 Menu- 5/5 Service- 4/5 Hygiene- 5/5 Quality of food- 5/5 Taste- 4/5 Value...
Read moreCame here with my brother for a late lunch after seeing how good the ratings were.
I ordered the side of grilled vegetables, a salad and the Super Eggs Masala & Salli Omelette - egg whites only. The grilled vegetables had a lot of oil but actually tasted nice. I had to use tissue papers to squeeze out the oil (there was actually a lot).
The Roasted Broccoli & Cauliflower Salad (with Blue Cheese Dressing) was good too. I asked for chicken ordered because I needed extra protein. Things went well together. Nothing too outstanding but a good dish overall.
My omelette took an extremely long time to come, and then it turned out salty. I tasted one bite and it felt a bit off. Thought I'd go at it but I really couldn't. I asked my brother to try it as well and he agreed it had too much salt. The omelet was also soggy on the inside because it seemed a bit undercooked. I told the server it was salty and he took it back and got me a new one - no salt at all this time. This one took an extremely extremely long time to come. I actually considered cancelling the order!
The final omelette was amazing to! So fluffy! Perfectly seasoned with whatever was going on. A big load of chopped vegetables spread all over and I don't know what, but it was Really Good! Very large souffle omlette here.
I think the manager saw that we were a little dissatisfied with what was going on so he brought us a dessert on the house. It was the Black Forest Ferrero (chocolate base, chocolate cheesecake, blueberry compote, blueberry cheesecake). I would not have expected that chocolate and blueberry combination to go that well but it was amazing!
My brother ordered the Barbecue Chicken & Cheddar Melt Croissant; It was very loaded - both with flavor and content. Cheese sauce on top also went super well. He also got the Cookies and Cream Ice Cream for dessert, and it was really good! So smooth and creamy and lush. They make me ice cream in-house, and I can totally see why! One of the best cookies & cream ice creams I've had.
Shoutout to Kamal and team for giving us a good experience at the...
