Theme- being a ramdan, we went to try their Mohammed ali food festival. This was the 5th year of them to do so. (5/5)
Ambience- entrance of restaurant was really wow, loved the walk through till the main restaurant. As soon as you enter it has amazing well decorated bar. Seating is just perfect so does the lighting.(5/5)
Service/staff- Service was nice to start with then it got bit slowed, might management can check this. Chef shabad was so nice to come and meet us.(4/5)
Food- Its been almost 20 years that I visit Mohammed ali road in Ramdan days. The food which is served there is always extremely delicious. Chef shabad has brought the same taste, dishes and fun in Sofitel hotel. I was really surprised and happy to get the same, rather premium version of mohammed ali road food in hotel.
We started with paya soup, texture wise it was really creamy and little thicker than normal paya and had good flavour of saffron in it. I ordered this soup twice to be honest, and enjoyed it.
Coming to starters we tried assorted platter in which they served veg cutlet, achari mahi fish tikka, chicken cutlet, khau galli chicken tikka and Lahoti seekh kabab. Starters were served with generous amount of laccha. Cutlet had authentic vermicelli coating which was fried. Fish tikka was flavoursome, had good melting in the mouth consistency. Lahori seek kabab was my favourite in all of them.
Main course options were even more delicious and super heavy. Mutton kheema was highlight here which was served with buttered pav, a perfect Mumbai dish I can say. Khichda is one of the dish which I never ever miss as if its made in the proper way then it can be the best dish any time. Here it was made in authentic way with good amount of ghee which was required. Daal e khas was again extremely temping and loved the way it was garnished and tasted too. I was surprised to see less dessert option, we tried malpua with rabdi which is a must try and had saffron phirni.
Food wise they served all the most famous and popular dishes of mohammed ali road. I am sure the restaurant will be full for this particular food festival as many cant go to mohmmed ali road or donโt enjoy going as its really crowded and this festival is certainly a premium version of it which you can enjoy. Do visit this mohammed ali food festival I am sure you would love...
