Visited this place recently with a lot of expectations, especially being inside Sikkim House and claiming to serve authentic North-Eastern cuisine. Honestly speaking, the overall experience was a bit underwhelming.
I had ordered the Sikkim Thali, expecting something wholesome and flavourful — but sadly, it was far from it. The taste felt flat, lacked that typical Sikkimese essence, and to top it off, the time they took to serve it was unusually long. For a thali, I expected something more comforting and satisfying, but it didn’t really deliver either on flavour or freshness.
The steamed chicken momos, though, were a saving grace. Soft, juicy, and quite well-prepared — they did manage to lift the mood a bit. But even there, the momo chutney was given in such a tiny quantity that it wasn’t enough for even one person, let alone sharing it among three. When we asked for more, no one really came to attend us. That’s another downside — the staff didn’t check on us even once after serving the food. Felt like we were completely left to ourselves.
Service seriously needs improvement. Polite staff, yes — but extremely inattentive and slow. In a place where food is taking time to arrive, good service can make a huge difference. Unfortunately, that was missing.
Now coming to the ambiance — honestly, this was the best part. The vibe of the restaurant is peaceful and the interiors are simple yet tastefully done. It’s a nice, quiet place tucked away from the chaos of Delhi, perfect if you just want to sit down and relax over a light snack.
Overall Verdict: If you’re planning to go just for their momos or a light bite, maybe give it a try. But if you’re going in expecting a proper, authentic Sikkimese meal experience, you might end up disappointed like I was. A lot of potential here, but they really need to work on their food consistency and service.

Read moreDiscovering new Sikkim House was, in fact, a twist of serendipity in my Delhi to Haridwar bike journey. Thanks for the lucky wrong turn. I invited this city treasure, already known for inviting itself via Instagram and YouTube fame, to have lunch. The Buff Momos, served in a cute steamer, were deliciously flavorful, although not very juicy. The Smoked Pork Ribs were very good, although a little bit too dry from the outside, surprisingly, of all things, to the point that an extra side order of barbecue sauce should be brought in. The service staff, however, exceeded such levels with their outstanding friendliness and cuteness that the experience of dining shot up significantly. The ambiance lived up to the class, inviting an atmosphere full of warmth and pleasure. Price-wise, the menu comfortably seats in the moderate range, ensuring value for the price in quality and service. New Sikkim House turned an accidental detour into an unexpectedly beautiful and remembered culinary adventure with splendorous service. The highlight of my visit was unexpected yet delightful consequence of its popularity - the place was fully packed, thus, I found myself sharing a table with a fellow solo diner, who works at another Embassy. A testament to its allure and quality. This chance encounter not only enriched my dining experience but also offered a glimpse into the diverse clientele that New Sikkim House attracts, further...
