I visited Udaipur for a solo trip to seek some peace & explore the culture. I previously booked Oyo Rooms, Udaipur but found it too expensive for the kind of facility they were providing. So, I explored this vibrant place by the name of The Journey. I found the place quite fascinating specially the crowd & the interior designing of this property. The staff is very co-operative specially the property manager dipan, who guided me properly about the nearby places which are worth exploring. The place has got a really beautiful hangout zone where one can lie down & watch lake pichola/palace or can enjoy playing carrom, chess, pyramid etc. The property has got a dormitory concept which actually works well for the backpackers & cost just Rs 299/- for 1 day includes air condition and free aliminites. To add to this, the property has a heart wrenching roof top where you can lie down or enjoy your meals from the in-house open kitchen. Overall an excellent place for backpackers who are looking for a mind blowing experience. Special thanks for dipan for taking the time out of his schedule & accompanying me to the nearby places like Jagdish Temple, Bagore ki Havali, Moonson Palace , Tiger Lake... Hats off to the staff for such an amazing hospitality & also I forgot to mention that you gonna find some really good friends over your stay here as the place provides beautiful ambiance for networking :D Overall, 5/5 stars from my side.Keep it...

While the hostel itself and dorms are clean and nice, the staff was unprofessional. We were booked in for a week, with the plan to stay an extra week. When we arrived, they upgraded up to the dorms that have the bathroom in the room, rather than on the roof - great, thanks! However, when we extended, we were told we’d have to check out and check back in to the other room, or, pay the higher rate for the week. While I get this in principle, it’s pretty bad customer service. If you upgraded me, you can force me to move or pay more. You honor the upgrade you made, especially if I’m looking to pay for an additional 7 days. Had issues with the staff, particularly hanging out in dorm room’s common space, on more than one occasion. The most memorable was when they came to tell people it was check out time, and instead of leaving, stayed to make sure they’d check out quick, and used the time to have a little photo shoot. I find this so unprofessional as there are many others in the room that have paid for that to be there space. Same employee as the one that told me to pay more or change rooms. Again, hostel itself is nice, clean, well located. Short visits...

Similar standards to other hostels we stayed in across Rajasthan. But considering it was the most expensive we stayed in we were expecting more. We arrived pretty early in the morning and they let us leave our bags, take showers and use the common area all day before check in. When we finally checked in we had to make our beds ourselves, something we never encountered in all our time in Asia. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Each bed has a private fan, light and 2 plugs as well as privacy curtains 2 pillows and a thick fleece blanket (which never gets washed so mine smelled like sweat from the previous user). The common kitchen is open all the time except during breakfast which is buffet style and not as impressive. The common area has a nice view and it's a peaceful place to chill. No mosquitoes and breezy at night. Common showers are upstairs and they always have hot water. And there's always toilet paper available. Every morning we woke up to a puddle of water in the corridor which I slipped over and hit my hip. They cleaned up both mornings but not until after 10 (when breakfast is over) so everyone had to step over it already. Overall a nice stay

Really good hostel in around some main sights and hangout spots in Udapuir. Hostel is relatively up and coming, work was still being done during my stay but the rooms are really good. Bed wise, comfortable and spacious, you can draw a mesh curtain to help block out light and give you some privacy. Each bed has a fan screwed into a wall nearby to give you extra cooling. The showers were always hot and mine had good pressure. The rooftop lounge was really chilled with lazy cushions, beds/sofas all round with a big communal central area under some funky lighting and decor. Breakfast is very basic but the masala chai is really good and provided throughout the day. A good choice to stop off and the place should only get better as it develops, hopefully with activities up and running, they had none whilst I was there.
