I recently visited Nyoto, a pure veg Indian fusion restaurant located in the upper part of Udaipur’s Old City, and I have to say—it completely blew my mind!
I started with their Indian Fusion Spaghetti—a wild desi twist on the classic Italian dish, bursting with spices and flavors you won’t find anywhere else. Then came the real surprise: a crazy version of Mirchi Bada that was unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. It had the crunch, the spice, but with a unique fusion flair that elevated the entire experience.
But the showstopper? The Orange Flower Malpua topped with ice cream. This dessert alone is reason enough to visit. It was floral, rich, perfectly balanced, and felt like a modern take on tradition—exactly what fusion food should be.
From the rooftop vibe to the creativity on every plate, Nyoto is hands down one of the best veg restaurants in Udaipur for fusion food lovers.
What I Loved Most: ✅ Indian-style Fusion Spaghetti ✅ Unique Mirchi Bada Innovation ✅ Orange Flower Malpua with Ice Cream ✅ Pure Veg Menu ✅ Cozy Rooftop in Old City

However, the quality of the food was not particularly impressive. We sampled two starters, and both didn't impress.
The kebab bao, in particular, was somewhat difficult to eat due to the sauce, and I am unsure of the reasoning behind that design choice. And the mains, butter chicken and mutton haleem. The chicken was quite dry, and the gravy was a bit too liquid. Lovely presentation with the sauce in small jars. Very Instagramable, if that's what you're looking for! I actually really enjoyed the mutton. Except the bread it came with just wasn't tasty. Also, the texture felt like it came out of the microwave.
The naan that came with the butter chicken was amazing! The texture was reminiscent of a flaky croissant with a delightful butter flavor, without being overly greasy. Really something I haven't seen elsewhere. The mutton had been served with similar bread, it might have significantly enhanced the overall experience.
The service was alright, with the only drawback being the delay in receiving alcoholic beverages, as they were sourced from another bar within the hotel (not a problem just also not greag) Additionally, the requirement to pay for the drinks immediately upon receipt felt somewhat out of place for a restaurant setting and is quite a...
Read moreHaving the pleasure of dining at Nyoto on two occasions during this past week has compelled me to share my experience with others. The entire experience was equal to any of the fine dining establishments found in Paris, or New York City. Udaipur now has a new, “must visit” Progressive Indian Fusion Food restaurant. In fact, I was so impressed that I have contracted proprietor/ Chef, Shadab and his expert team to cater an upcoming Art Exhibition Opening event at the Chota Darikhana, The City Palace Museum, Udaipur. The menu is robust with unique dishes that reflect the passion and culinary mastery of Chef Shadab. It was lovely to have him personally guide us through the menu and his recommendations were divine. There is a dessert inspired by Crepe Suzette that absolutely delighted us. Chef Shadab told us the story of how and why he created this dish and we couldn’t say no. The first bite made me lose my mind so I am unable to recall the name of the dessert but ask for it. Sooo delicious ! The ambiance and view are wonderful. I would recommend reserving a table for sunset...
