Overall a bad experience, found out it was all marketing agenda , and no accountability whatsoever , they go back on their own words , they say one thing on paper and another thing on the phone, they do not have any sort of Accomodation for personal driver . Breakfast coupon to be used on Adyar Ananda Bhavan is a joke and is only suitable for children . It’s not even a proper breakfast , it’s more like a quick evening snack being served for breakfast. You get to sample a bit of all their breakfast menu , that’s all . I was promised a driver Accomodation. On booking ,receptionist called to confirm and quoted ”they could fit a extra bed on the normal deluxe room “, but found out it was not possible upon reaching the place, had to upgrade to executive room to even have space to fit an extra bed . The executive room was ok the reason being hot water was not that hot , it was kind of cold for a shower . Even after long time , hot water shower was not hot enough for me , but it was ok for brushing and mouth washing .Also the night lamp was kind of very bright for it to help aid sleep , had to sleep dark due to it being very bright for it to be called a night lamp.Regarding the driver Accomodation , i was promised by the manager upon reaching the place that “they will be giving the driver a pillow ,sheet and a common bathroom to use” . They completely lied about the whole accommodation part , the driver was not given any pillow or sheet , there wasn’t even a fan in the room /hall Where he was supposed to sleep for the night . It was infested with bed bugs and mosquitoes. on my journey, since two more people in my group knew to drive , we gave the driver a proper rest and drove for 2 hours each . Imagine if you did not know to drive and was fully dependent on the driver for your entire journey , the lack of sleep is dangerous , he may fall asleep at the wheel , he may keep taking multiple tea breaks , you would start to wonder what makes the driver so sleepy . The driver had to sleep in the car due to the mismanagement of the part of hotel .I would not recommend people with chauffeur driven vehicles take...
Read moreHad seen some reviews of the hotel on various sites and decided to take a chance. We rung up the hotel and the person who answered was polite and gave us all the information about the hotel rooms and Tariff etc. He reserved the room a deluxe room for us.
When we arrived at the hotel the check in was easy and we had to pay for a day in advance. The Madhava Inn or Hotel was situated on the main road and looked good from the outside. The lobby was reasonable spacious with a few sofa sets and a news paper stand. I noticed an old massage chair also kept in the lobby, but didn't find anybody using it. We were allotted a room on the second floor. There was nice lift in the lobby which took us to our floor. The room was better than expected, neat and spacious. There were two chairs and a round table in the room. The bed was a double bed neatly done. There was a full size mirror near a cupboard. Enough space in a wardrobe with sufficient cloth hangers. The bathroom was neat and clean with new fittings and the best part was that it had cold and hot water all the time. The bed sheets and covers were very clean and towels were washed and white. Everything about the room was good. We were also give toilet kits with toothpaste, brush and comb. No shaving kit and body lotion and shampoo were provided. Maybe we could ask for it separately. The room had good air conditioning controls. There was also an electric kettle provided, with packets of tea, coffee, sugar and milk. ALso two small bottles of packaged water are provided. What I found missing was tissue paper and toilet paper roll . Breakfast is complimentary. and we have a good vegetarian restaurant in the same building on the ground floor. The breakfast is a fixed menu , but with all south Indian menu, which includes Dosa, Idlys, Vada,Puri and Pongal. Our room overlooked the main road, but with heavy curtains and non openable glass windows, there was not much noise . We stayed for two nights and overall found that the hotel was very nice and worth the money. We would recommend this hotel for short stays...
Read moreLocated right in the heart of the town, on Coimbatore road, opposite Shanthi Theatre. The rooms were spacious, tidy, well-lit, and ventilated. Centralized air conditioning kept the room temperature bearable in the summer heat. Nice and clean bathrooms. There is an A2B restaurant in the ground floor of the hotel building that caters the guests. Unfortunately, the only let down was VERY VERY VERY BAD room service. They don't bother to provide the basic amenities like water bottles, beverages, towels, soaps, etc. unless asked for, that too after reminding them and waiting for a whole day. I had to stay there for almost a week, and every day I had remind them at least 5-6 times to clean the room and tidy up the bed. In spite of umpteen reminders, nobody bothered to give us a proper answer about who is in charge.
A nice a new hotel like this should concentrate more on the service in order to retain the regular customers and gain business by word-of-mouth marketing. If not for the PATHETIC SERVICE and BAD HOSPITALITY, it would have been a fine...
