We came here because the view looked nice and we wanted cool drinks + a snack on a hot Sunday afternoon. However, what we were given were good drinks, okay-ish food, a table fiasco on the 1st floor and a bill that was higher than the prices on the menu.
When we arrived no table at the front of the terrace was free, so we were seated in the middle. No problem there, however we requested to change our table because of the very loud music the DJ was playing and we saw that people at the front tables were leaving. The waiter told us to wait, he’ll ask his colleague and then tell us. Unfortunately he never came back and the table was given to a couple arriving after we asked for the change. This wouldn’t have been too bad, if it hadn’t happened twice. Two table changes requested by someone else were allowed, but no one came back to us and told us whether we were able to change. Also, our food took very long to be prepared. After a while (and the third free table) we changed seats (after asking so. else) which was acknowledged with annoyed faces by the staff. At least we were almost able to talk (and not scream) to each other because the music volume was a bit lower now.
The grand finale of this visit was the bill which was higher than what we expected. On the menu it is stated that all government taxes are included, however, they charged taxes additionally. To make it worst, the prices on the bill were higher than the ones on the menu (e.g. 285 instead of 250). We were confused (and very fed up to be honest) and paid, on our way out we saw one couple also re-calculating their bill and having a discussion with the main waiter, whilst they were pointing at the menu. This led us to believe that this might be a common way of this restaurant to make people pay more.
All in all the views are the only reason for the 2 ⭐️, but we wouldn’t recommend people to come here (or at least be prepared to experience semi-good service and might be scammed)
FYI we didn’t order any alcohol and after reading the google reviews (just now, I wish I had done it before) it seems like people who don’t drink are treated differently than the ones having higher bills (because of their alcohol consumption as these are quite highly priced). But that’s just...

The culinary experience here is top-notch. The colorful mocktails are refreshing and perfect for a hot day. We started with tandoori chicken, fish fry, and tandoori prawn, all of which were delicious and perfectly cooked. Read moreGreat setting spoiled by bad service. My ratings for Marmoris is actually 3.5 . The reason for my lower rating is due to the quality of service. I had to literally ask for each any everything right from.water, tissues, forks and knives etc. They take their own sweet time but saying this I have a confession to make. The reason I love going back to this place is because of it's this location . This place is all about location, location, location !!!! The restobar is close to the sea. Infact it almost kisses the seashore. One can hear the waves. They have an A/C section and a non A/C section. I would have preferred the open restaurant section but the heat forced me in to the a/c section. I am sure the evenings with the sea breeze it would be a lovely setting.
The costing is very very nominal for such a lovely ambiance. The service has a long way to go. The management "MUST" train the boys the nuances of efficient service. They must be trained not smile at least once. No one staff was warm or had a smile. Could be because of the big crowd which walks in during weekends. The crowd just keeps rolling in even after 3 30 pm.
The food will take more than 25 minutes to reach the table . We ordered for. Chicken Steak, Rice and Malabar Fish Curry, Pasta Arabiata and Prawns with sweet potatoes fries. The Malabar Fish Curry was actually outstanding. The Steak was above average and did not excite my palate, the pasta was true to it's roots.
Chennai customers seem to be looking for exciting places but clearly there is a shortage for such places. I can assure every restauranter that this is a huge market for Chennai. Decent food, service and cost and tadaa !!! You have great business in your hands. Ambiance - 5 star Service - 1 star Food - 3.5 star Price - 5 star Parking - 4 star Air-conditioning - 4...
