During our recent trip to Chennai most of the hotels that we shortlist got sold out and that’s when we came across Raaj Bhavan Clark’s In. We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and our experience was excellent. Right from check in to check out everything was smooth. The security at the entrance, the staff at the reception, the housekeeping staff, restaurant staff and breakfast staff everyone was so professional and friendly. Their check in time is 2 PM but since ours was an early morning flight, we reached Chennai airport by 10 am. I called the hotel to check if early check in would be possible and they were totally ok with that and allowed us to check in early without even charging us for it. That was very unexpected and I was so impressed with their hospitality. Room was well equipped with all basic amenities and 24/7 hot water facility. Coming to the food, it’s a pure veg place and we tried Parota Kurma, Mushroom Biriyani, Gobi 65, Paneer Fingers, paneer butter masala, lemon coriander soup and roti. Parota kurma was excellent, Mushroom biriyani was good, Gobi 65 wasn’t that great, Paneer fingers were excellent again, Paneer butter masala was good and lemon coriander soup was good. Only issue we faced was with the confusion- like we ordered 2 Parota kurma set and was billed for the same but only one arrived and similarly we ordered lemon coriander soup 1/2 and only one arrived. But yes on calling them us they did send the missing dish quickly In the complementary breakfast they had good spread. There was cut fruits, juice, coleslaw sandwich, poori and green peas curry, idli, 3 times of chutney and sambar, paratha, bread butter jam, corn flakes, veg stir fry. I absolutely loved the spread especially poori and green peas, paratha and the chutneys. In live counter you get dosa also. The staff at the breakfast counter is so active and friendly. Over all an amazing experience, we absolutely enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend.

I was traveling alone for an exam. Before I booked, I called twice for confirmation about extending my check-out time because of my exam timings. Both of these times, they confirmed that they can extend the check-out time and I can go straight there. But when I reached and asked, they said it was not possible. And that they would charge additional charges. This is why I asked earlier and asked for confirmation. In the room, I noticed a door opposite my bed and I thought it was a cupboard or something. It turns out it was opening to the room next door. At night, I heard loud snoring and I wasn't able to sleep a wink. I was traveling alone. I chose this hotel cuz of the safety. And when I mentioned, they said it was locked and that they have the keys. What safety does it have! As a female traveler, the main reason I pick expensive hotels is for the safety. And they just put a door in my room, facing my bed and which opens to the next room. Their restaurant is closed from 3 pm till 7:30pm. I reached there by 3pm and after the check-in, when I called the restaurant they said it was closed and then I had to eat from outside. After my exam, when I went to the restaurant for lunch, they had me wait for 20 mins, only to say that there was some issue with the kitchen and only one item was available (which I can't eat). Again I asked the reception if I can eat outside food inside since their restaurant was having problem. They said yes and while I was ordering, another guy came and said it was not possible and if we're ordering non-veg food you should eat in the room only. I had already checked-out. And I didn't have breakfast in the morning too. Disappointed overall.

(This is a review about The Bridge Restaurant and Not on Raaj Bhavan Restaturant, which is in ground floor) This is a recently opened Restaurant , about e months back which is unique in serving Buffet lunch for Vegetarian lovers. We just wanted to try in Raaj Bhavan, bug buffet is not available there. We were directed to go at The Bridge Restaurant which is just above and can be reached by lift. You will have a pleasant surprise on seeing the location, ambience, beautiful dining hall and nice lighting. With Comfortable cooling and pleasing music, your dining experience is enhanced to a higher level. The menu is exhaustive starting from Welcome Drink of Virgin Mojito to Two choice of Soups, starters like Baby corn fry, French fries, Paani poori, Pizza, Burger, to main course with choice of breads, salads, sidedishes like Paneer butter Masala, kadai vegetable, Bhindi Fry dry, Dhall Makhani, Green pasta, veg ball Manchurian, Green sauce Pasta, Hakka Noodlws, and the Vegetable Briyani, Rice, Rasam, Curd Rice with pickles, Papad. The lunch ends with Desserts like Gulab Jamun, Bread Halwa and Ice Cream. A connoisseur choice of food for tummy. The taste is very good and not spicy. The seating is comfortable, the staff are polite and helpful and the ambience is soothing. The price is reasonable at Rs.650 with 10% discount. Suggestion are Pizza etc can be improved, Sambhar can be introduced as it is SI dish and loved by all. Overall, it is a welcome experience to have buffet. You can try with your family leisurely. Best wishes!

One of the worst customer handling I have seen so far. We went there to enquire about the party hall for one my friend's event. We spoke to someone who had absolutely zero clue about event handling and pricing. Then came someone who with all his sales skills trying to persuade that he will do what is best. At the time of all these negotiations, we were very clear on the number of people (100 persons minimum guarantee) who will attend the event. He did not mention anything about the hall rent and said that it is not needed and will only need to pay the food cost per head.

Since he could not also say the final price, he said that he would call us back once he had consulted with his Manager and Chef.

After we reached home and later some time, he called and asked us to come again in the next morning.

So we went there hoping we would finalise the price of the meals per head and be on our way. But when we reached the place, phone calls to him became unanswered. Then we met someone who said that we will have to she'll out additional 50 thousand rupees for the hall if we are doing a 100 person event.

If we had know this yesterday during our 1 hour discussions with the previous person, we would have just left the place and looked for another. They just took us for their own jolly ride and wasted our time, fuel and peace of mind.

I wish they deal their customers with respect and be honest and open about the prices. They are just unorganised and all over the place. Hope they get better at it for the exorbitant price they...
