Very Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Hype or the Price
I recently visited Wow China (part of the Wow Momo chain) located in Thuraipakkam, and unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences I've had in recent times.
Food Experience: We ordered a variety of items – Steamed Momos, a burger (which oddly appeared on the bill as "peri peri chicken grilled"), chicken popcorn, and chicken Manchow soup.
The Steamed Momos were decent – probably the only item that tasted as expected.
The burger was a complete letdown. It was dry, bland, and lacked any flavor or freshness. Frankly, one of the worst burgers I’ve ever had.
Chicken Popcorn was equally disappointing – overcooked and tasteless.
The Manchow Soup was oddly tangy and unbalanced in flavor. Definitely overpriced for what was served.
Billing Issues: There were discrepancies in the bill – for instance, our burger showed up under a different name (“peri peri chicken grilled”), which was confusing. When asked, the staff didn’t offer a clear explanation.
Eco-Pack Charges for Dine-In? To add to the confusion, we were charged eco-pack charges despite dining in. When I questioned it, the staff simply responded that it was “company policy.” I fail to understand why a dine-in customer should be paying for takeaway packaging charges. It feels unfair and unjustified.
Overall Verdict: This outlet seriously lacks quality control – both in food and service. Overpriced, underwhelming, and not worth the visit. I’ve had better experiences with Wow Momo in the past, but Wow China at Thuraipakkam is a big NO from me. Definitely not recommending this...
Read moreOrdered a Schezwan Chicken Chinese Sizzler with rice and left the restaurant with a dizzy head due to too much spiciness in the food.. I usually eat a lot of spicy food so Schezwan is always something I ate at other Chinese restaurants but the level of spice in both rice and the sauce was too much that I was literally left disoriented just eating a few morsels.. and not to say my family also refrained from eating it. Although the staff provided us some extra fried rice (without Schezwan) on request it did not help in enjoying the food. Also to mention the ACs were not working and dining in was not a pleasant experience. Had a good feel about their food at Marina Mall but this outlet is not to be recommended and left me...
Read moreVisited one fine evening with my superiors to have a soup. Ordered Hot and Sour Chicken soup 2/3.... Nice colored soup with lots of mushrooms. We are searching for chicken. Better they call Hot and Sour mushroom soup.... We intend to visit the restaurant to have a spicy soup for our relief from cold... So taste wise it is OK and it did the work for what we visited. Food was fine but they did not have water to drink. We has to buy a bottle of water for the spicy food they provided. I don’t think any restaurant would make it a mandate to buy water bottle from them. Try to arrange at least RO water for free of cost, those who are visiting to this restaurant. Then this would be a...
