Pondok Jenggala — Hotel in Nusa Penida Subdistrict

The hostel is clean and really affordable. But in our room (number 102), we heard some « mouse/rat » in the wall. It was like they sleep with you. But we find a way to sleep.

The lady at the desk is really not kind/nice. You can feel she try to skam you. We told her we came from nusa penida, she tried to sell her « nusa penida tour » without listen to us. I know they want to sell their stuff but they should listen first.

There is a guy that is very kind there. Not fully fluent in English but kind person. We wanted to go to sanur the day after, so the day before we asked (by booking so we have the proof) if they have pick up service to go to the harbor. They said yes and its free. The next morning, we went for lunch and when we come back, there was the « not nice lady » at the desk so we told her we are ready to go. And it was not free anymore… So we tried to explain her that it’s not what they told us. And she tried to skam us by saying us the car is broke but we saw the guy the morning and he said everything was good and they are waiting for us after we went for lunch. So we went by walk to the harbor but it was easy.

So if you want to stay there, it’s cheap and « clean » but the service...

The rooms were really nice, spacious and quiet. However, when we arrived (we booked through Booking.com), they were rebuilding part of the hotel and the rooms near the swimming pool. We complained about the noise because it was not possible to enjoy staying quietly at the pool with all the jack hammers running all day and had only a discount of 10000 out of 350000 per night. Moreover, I would advise not to give them any laundry as we didn’t receive back some of our stuffs ! And we tried their juices which are really bad compared to other places because they dilute them with so much water that you can’t taste the fruit anymore. And finally, 30min after paying everything they came to ask for more money and pretended we didn’t pay everything... after long discussion and attempts to explain they finally understood it was their mistake... We stayed at this little hotel with friends and family. It was very quiet and the rooms were clean. First 2 nights the 2 rooms we had booked had no hot water and the when they tried to fix we ended up with no water. They had it fixed and no problems after that. Breakfast was simple for what we paid and expected. The pool was lovely and the place was very quiet and close to beach and lots of little Restaurants. It was a great place for $40.00 AUD per night. I just wish the staff sweeping and mopping floors in the restaurant in the morning could lift the chairs and move them instead of dragging them. That was alarm clock 7 am local time. Lembongan is a beautiful place to visit and would recommend this...
