I think this is the kind of place that you hope to find through reviews- better than expected and high-value - it should be considered a higher level accommodation but you’re not paying that high price. I didn’t see very much info/reviews prior to booking Rama Village, the place deserves a lot more credit and attention because it passed my expectations!||I stayed in a range of places across Bali - from luxury to value - and based on that experience, I feel you’re getting a lot of bang for you buck here. The rooms are spacious, clean (and cleaned daily), private, and comfortable. Mine had a private and enclosed patio area with lovely plants, table, and chairs. I saw a couple comments about being dark but l don’t think so, because the walls are a light color and there are floor to (almost) ceiling windows. Perhaps the bathroom could do with an extra makeup light. ||The villa location is away from the street so the noise is minimal - I didn’t hear scooter or traffic noise - from time to time I would hear the yoga or exercise class next door or a dog barking but nothing disruptive to me. ||As a solo traveler, I felt very comfortable and safe too. The staff saw me come and go and to get to the villa area, you have to first come through a shared walkway that is used by everyone staying or working there), then pass the front desk (day or night I always saw at least one person there or adjacent to it) and scooter/garden area. The walls of my patio are high and had additional protective wires above the wall. The pool area is common and there is a rice field that all the neighbors surround (someone couldn’t walk into the field without being seen). ||I can’t say enough nice things about the people that work there - family-like welcoming for all guests, kind, friendly, helpful, responsive. ||A lot has already been said about the location - it’s in the middle of different parts of Canggu without being crazy busy. ||If I were to go back to Canggu, it’s exactly where I...
Read moreThe place is tucked at the end of an alley and has a rice field next to it. There is no front desk/receptionist - we walked around until we ran into a staff to let us in. The room is old and primitive. While the bed sheet seemed reasonably clean, the overall hygiene level is questionable. There was cockroach in the toilet, and the hanging racks look like they have not been wiped down in a while. The bottled water’s label looked like they have been printed by the hotel staff themselves, and the repulsive taste left me nauseous. The only saving grace is large swimming pool and minimal noise level. Not recommended, poor...
Read moreWe enjoyed a 10-day stay at Rama. The Villa is in an exceptional location - a comfortable 10-15 minute stroll to everything you need in Canggu - cafe's, bars, beaches, yoga, gyms. Also very tranquil - the highlight is the pool which is never too busy.||||All things considered, we recommend. This proved to be the best villa available in our budget range. ||||Pros: Location, swimming, pool, price, clean, quiet.||Cons: Breakfast lacked variety, no-frills room, at times bugs in room (but to be expected), room not soundproof (villas split in two and you have a neighbour).|||| For a great stay in the heart of the Canggu,...
