A little Austrian-influenced cafe.
I originally went here because I was hungry after dropping off my laundry across the street. Had a lunch platter called "the Pump" that included chicken and grilled salmon. Everything was perfectly seasoned, and I felt like the price was good. I got this again a few days later.
Kept dropping by to work on my laptop and get coffee. I would park my butt upstairs, sometimes at the counter which overlooks the street so I could people-watch. Other times I'd sit at a table to be less distracted. The wifi works well so no issues there.
I also enjoyed the "Schwarzenegger" (the yogurt herb spread adds a unique charm to it)
The breakfast burrito was fine. Something I could easily make at home. Why am I eating Americanized Mexican while at an Austrian restaurant in Indonesia?
"The Kind "is a breakfast platter that was simple but nicely presented. Fruit, veggies, some cheese and rolled up ham, a soft-boiled egg that they open table-side. What was most beautiful about this platter was the colorful mini juice in the middle of it, but honestly the fruit that they used wasn't very sweet. I'm glad that they don't add sugar to it, but i should have asked if they had some honey to help make it taste better. This was a healthy meal overall and quite good though so I should just be happy. I probably won't order it again though, mostly because I got my photo of it for social media already, and there are other better items on the menu.
"everyone's favorite" is a pretty simple dish. bread, avocado, eggs, bacon...another one that I could easily make at home. I prefer the Schwarzenegger with bacon though for an extra 5k IDR (about 30 cents US).
BTW the staff is super friendly...maybe the friendliest staff I've encountered in Bali. My villa was nearby and they would smile and try to get my attention every day when I'd walk by. Shot out to my homies at My...
Read moreThere was a menu outside I could have a look at before entering. It's nice to have that in case one is a bit shy of confrontation and can easily scoot away and move on if nothing is tickling their fancy! Hard to imagine though with the menu choices/options!
They have the main floor or an upstairs space to sit and relax in. Lots of seating and so unique and beautiful! The colors and art within the space are calming and fun! The outside color can also grab your attention and make you wonder what more lies within!
I chose to sit upstairs!
For the food I chose, "The Smart", which is a vegan platter comes with fruits and veggies along with a dragon fruit dip (I think there was something else mixed with it. It was mighty tasty!), tofu scramble, peanut butter and a vegan yogurt with granola, some berries and coconut shreds! It also comes with a mini dragon fruit juice and a nice sized piece of whole grain bread brought to you in a bag on the side! I also ordered the "Mixed Daily Juice". From today's choices, I picked watermelon, pineapple and dragon fruit! And lastly I ordered a smoothie called You Are A Crazy Banana! It's so so yummy! I will be coming back here again and try something different!
One more thing I would like to add about the service! The staff are quick to bring your order and attentive to your needs. Coming to check in on how things are tasting and they are always smiling! One of the servers, Mila, is a sweet woman and so friendly! I am so happy I got to meet her and experience her charm and light!
Mila, thank you for being you, and you will reach your dreams!
Thank you so much all, for making my first experience here one to remember and for enticing me to find my way back to this cozy place! Also, thank you for making this hungry woman's tummy feel full and happy!
Truly, one of my new happy...
Read moreI recently visited my happy place in Canggu and I have to say, it was an absolute treat! From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the outstanding decoration - every detail was so well thought out and it created a really warm and inviting atmosphere.
But the best part of my visit had to be the food - I ordered a burrito and it was hands down the best one I've ever had. The flavors were perfectly balanced and it was packed with delicious, fresh ingredients. I'm still thinking about it days later!
And on top of all that, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed and to make me feel at home. It was such a pleasure to be there.
Overall, I cannot recommend this cafe highly enough. Whether you're in Bali Canggu for a day or a month, make sure you stop by - you won't...
