I wish to express my sincere, deepest gratitude to the loving, compassionate and beautiful staff at Revolver cafe in Canggu. I was driving my scooter past the cafe when I randomly and suddenly started choking. I pulled over on the side of the road, just next to the cafe, to remove my full face helmet. The gentleman who was assisting with the cafe parking saw me and immediately ran across the road, to help me remove my gloves and helmet and helped tap my back to remove whatever caused my choking. He didn't hesitate and stayed with me until I started breathing properly again, also looking out for my scooter. Meanwhile, a server had run inside to quickly get me a glass of water and ran it out to me. Within less than a minute, I had stopped choking, had some water and felt fine. If not for their prompt help and kindness, it might have been a different story. It all sounds so simple, but it was the genuine love, care and compassion that really screamed volumes. I wasn't even a customer of the cafe, just someone driving past, yet they cared and looked after me and didn't ask me for a tip or to pay for the water. It was just pure kindness. Unfortunately in my stressed state I showed deep gratitude and thanked each individual but I didn't get their names. It was an older gentleman who assisted me and I believe the lady may have been hosting/ greeting customers into the cafe. THANK YOU! From the bottom of my heart. I have lived in Bali for nearly 8 years and haven't seen such fast, responsive help and kindness to a random stranger. I will forever be a customer of yours now! My...

Read moreRevolver Many on Bali have heard of this spot — and I finally made it there. What can I say? It’s always buzzing, especially on Fridays and Saturdays starting from 4 p.m., when you can become part of what people now fashionably call a coffee rave. With good DJs spinning, it’s easy to let loose and enjoy the energy of the place. There’s a vibrant, youthful atmosphere throughout.
As for the food, I recommend the fish tacos — they’re truly well-balanced, and the pineapple salsa complements the fish beautifully. The watermelon and feta salad is a summer classic, with a great ratio of watermelon chunks to crumbled feta. Though, the last time I had it, they added way too many unchewable spices, which made it unpleasant to eat — unlike my previous visits, when it was perfectly done. I also recommend the thin chip topped with tuna tartare — you’ll find it in the appetizer section, and I believe it’ll be a pleasant surprise.
I tried the croissant with salmon as well — it’s an immortal classic, though nothing too unexpected.
As for the interior — the place is stunning. There’s a great bar, a stylish restroom, and thoughtful design throughout. If you sit outside, you can watch the endless stream of Bali locals pass by, and over a cup of cappuccino, enjoy discussing life with your friends.
This is a place about atmosphere — about pausing for coffee and meeting new people. Truly lively and full of motion. I especially recommend it on Fridays...
