Cafe The Daun — Restaurant in Bali

This place has potential, however… We had hotel breakfast at this place. They have a set menu and provide Balinese coffee & juice (papaya or watermelon): my partner didn’t like the Balinese coffee. I thought it was fine.

Later that day, I wanted to get us long black coffees and doubted if I should get it there or somewhere else. I got it there and I really like it. My partner as well. A tip: make your breakfast costumers excited about your coffees and offer them the coffees on your menu.

Next up: the food. I liked the banana pancakes. Ordered them everyday. One day (I didn’t notice it at first) the pancakes were black on the bottom — completely burned. Please check your food. Don’t try to fool your costumers by serving the burned side upside down.

Everything was disgusting and I paid quite a bit for my meal. First- I got the beet, carrot, ginger drink and I specified ‘no sugar’. She said there was a “little” honey in it. It came wayyyy too sweet so I asked them to remake it with NO sugar or honey. So it came back with way too much lemon and absolutely no ginger. Whatever. Then my salmon Benedict’s came. Only one half of the bun has anything on it. WTH? Seriously- see the photo. The “sauce” on the side is just butter. Gross. All of it. I couldn’t even eat it. There are plenty of restaurants close by that serve way better tasting food and they are much more generous. Don't be fooled by the many people eating there- they are mostly from a hostel nearby who are eating for free. ...
