Wayan Silver Class Ubud — Local services in Pulau Bali

It was a lot of fun. I chose a more complex design pair of earrings, so I didn't do the cutting out myself. Had it been simpler, you would also do the cutting. But, since I was the only person there at that time, Wayan was happy to do the cutting for me. It took him a bit of time, so i could imagine it would have taken me all day if I had done it myself. I melted the silver, hammered it, rolled it thinner, heated it, rolled it again, drew the design, cleaned it, sanded it, and polished it. So not 100% made by me, but plenty involved. If you do something a little less complicated, you would 100% be doing it yourself. Any questions I asked were answered. They would show you what to do, then let you do it. Would do it again with Wayan, and do something simpler so that I can do the whole thing next time just to say I did it. Next trip to Bali, I will 100% go again. Thank you to Wayan and his employee (who I feel so bad I didn't get her name. I am grateful that I found this place by randomly googling a silver making class while staying in Ubud area, was a bit sceptical about this place at first by the very few of the reviewers compared to another silver making class around this area with the question in mind are they really good but instead I still going n giving it a try, keeping my expectations low. I went there around 2pm and met Bli Wayan and his business partner Pak Wayan,greeted with warm welcome and short introductory in their humble workshop, Starting my silver making session, Bli Wayan explaining the silver making process very detail from one process to another and answer every question patiently, while Pak Wayan helping & guiding me operating/using the tool, they are hand in hand helping me with the process and ended up my so called 'private class' at 5.30pm with total new insight about silver making class and a plus that I officially made a new friends, Thank You Bli Wayan and Pak Wayan for teaching me patiently, I hope for nothing but the growth of the business, they are truly a gem. We were attracted to the shop because one client was working on his ring, we could see from outside. Wayan noticed and promptly invited us in - his friendliness and smile are contagious, I felt at the right place immediately.

Even though I didn't visit to craft a ring, it got to me right away, and so I decided to come again to participate in the ring crafting workshop with him.

And so I did, 2 days later with an idea in mind on what to do... Having thought about buying one special ring maybe one day to symbolically perpetuate something very meaningful to me with a ring, but it never came to mind that I could create one myself... until I spent some time in his shop.

It was a wonderful experience, being guided by professional silversmiths and creating a beautiful ring on my own, one with a deep meaning as well.

I'm impressed with the result, it came out even better than I could have imagined. It also is the very first one I'm wearing, and it feels great.
